Meet Brandy Deason, a climate justice coordinator from Houston with a suspicion... Her city's new 'All-Plastics' recycling initiative sounded too good to be true. Instead of just wondering, she decided to investigate. Her weapon of choice? Pretty interesting ones...

The moral of the story, it's the mayor's friends and friends of the city council, who pay to get contracts (and make campaign donations)... nothing to do with contract performance.

Where did you expect tags to end up? You don't know where the plastic went.

I was told long ago in one of our civic association meetings that Houston recycling was not actually recycled. Did not realize that it was left to sit in the sun!

Just one more proof that the rules don’t apply to them. Everyone involved should ALREADY be in prison. Not just the scapegoats, but the government officials who gave them the contract in the first place & now haven’t prosecuted them.

Just throw it in the trash and take it to the landfill. And tell people you’re gonna do it so then people will be able to decide if they want to bring their own bags to the grocery store or better yet just don’t use them at the store. Make it mandatory people bring their own bags. People are idiots
