Hello @ThePrimeagen , have you heard about dot files, yeah. They work on macs too. My ansible dot files can set up a brand new MacBook in minutes. Everything working. Dock, system settings, configuration, scroll speed, tiling manager (aerospace), terminal, everything. Please don't give out false statements, we expect better.

Apple isn't just controlling our OS,they're gatekeeping tech, locking users in, and exploiting their wallets. macOS/iOS were built on opensource tech like BSD,yet they closed it and went full corporate. Will YOU be different? No, coz OSS is built on principles you clearly lack

I love my Macbook. It works, yes it requires some configs for specific pkgs to work. But the experience is amazing for me.

Unfortunately, since Jobs died Apple gotgreedy and focused on design and money, rather than user experience and functionality…for most people ( 99% of the population) want something that you open and works ( without compromising security like windows ) you are the 1% of the 1%

there's an app called skhd and yabai that makes macos feel a lot more like linux but totally agree that Mac os is fucking trash

This is why I am building Wawona, a wayland compositor for macOS! You can completely replace WindowServer, and run any linux desktop environment!

Nix-darwin solves most of this, but yes, MacOS is getting really annoying and slow. Too bad because the hardware is awesome :(
