Microsoft is testing a new feature in Windows 11 called Low Latency Profile that gives a short boost to your CPU for 1 to 3 seconds when you open apps or menus. Early tests show Microsoft apps like Edge and Outlook open up to 40% faster, while the Start menu and other menus can load up to 70% faster, with CPU use jumping high for a few seconds then dropping right back down. Microsoft says this is normal because Apple does it in macOS and Linux, plus phones use the same type of quick CPU boosts for better speed. The feature is only in early Insider testing now, so it is not out for everyone yet.

We have prayer lock with 13k reviews ranking top #100 on the AppStore Now we are building step lock our 2nd app and the first goal is to scale it. to $10k/mo, In public It combines health kit + screen time api To block your apps until you get your steps in. We used Rork plans feature, and it literally gave us the whole setup for the app, Then it built the app for us and one shorted the api integrations In a 2 days we had the app submitted to the AppStore The app is currently in review. Apple has rejected it 7 times For the dumbest reasons. But it’s looking like this time it will get approved. Will be posting updates on this

It’s been a year since the company I helped start shut down. It was one of those ideas that felt truly “net-positive” for the world, and truly helped people on a personal level. So, over this last year I worked on 2 things — searching for an idea that feels net-positive and something people could connect with on a deep, personal level. That led me to build + launch 2 apps at the beginning of the year: 1. Lyrics: Daily Music Widget - an app that shows you song lyrics from your favorite artists, right on your home screen 2. one year - another app that shows how many days of growth you’ve had in a year Both of these apps had their ups and downs, but they made me realize some pretty cool things: - I want my apps to feel great to use - I want me apps to do one thing really well - I want my apps to feel like a human made them - and, I want my apps to always be made with other people So, two months ago I took those concepts, went to visit in SF, and started on an idea that I truly felt could change the way people live their daily lives. And, it’s launching today. This is Find Your Faith, an iPhone app that helps you discover a spiritual path that resonates with you, or helps you dive deeper into a faith you already practice. We started this as a way to help us with our own spiritual journeys. We wanted to explore different faiths in a way that was authentic to us. The beauty about spirituality is there is no deadline on when you should “figure out what you believe in” lol. It’s really something to check in on during the different seasons of your life. And, there isn’t just one way to do it. Some people may enjoy reading religious text, or others may prefer being in the presence of something greater than them. At the end of the day, these are just ways to give yourself the space to explore really tough questions and concepts. That’s what Find Your Faith (or fyf) does — helps you understand where you are on your journey, no matter where you may be, and gives you the space to sit in these questions every day. This is just the beginning for us, and hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed building it :).

For those who worry about the lack of controllers on Apple Vision Pro: You don't need controllers for artificial movement in VR. Here is the hand tracking alternative we built for Wooorld called 'Glider'. Pull it toward wherever you want to go. Pull it further to go faster. Movement is even more complicated in Wooorld compared to other VR apps & games as we have two modes of movement: 'Map Navigation' (first half of the video) and 'Locomotion' (second half of the video). And in many ways Glider feels better and more natural than controller thumbstick as it utilizes all three axes. *We still have lots of improvements planned for Glider.

Built a native macOS viewer for ledger plain-text accounting file format. Most expense tracking apps are built around lock-in. Proprietary formats, mandatory accounts, servers you don't control. When their VC funding dries up, they shut down or pivot, and you start over. Plain-text accounting takes the opposite approach: your finances live in a .ledger file. Open it in vim. Query it with awk. Put it in git and get a full audit trail of every change you've ever made. It's just a plain text file. Ledge is just a lens over that file. Fast, native, no cloud. they're calling it "Black October" and i don't think people realize how serious this is in the last three weeks there have been more than 20 major cybersecurity incidents. not in a year. not in a quarter. in three weeks any ONE of these would normally be the biggest story of the year PHP: two critical holes in the code behind about 70% of websites. severity 9.2 out of 10. governments pulled their own sites offline GitLab: where companies store their code. a perfect 10 out of 10 severity hole in every version since 2014 Railway: a service that runs apps for other companies was hacked. it told all users to replace their secret keys LiteLLM: an AI tool downloaded about 23 million times a week shipped a password stealer for about two hours Zeabur: an app hosting service says 321,810 accounts were hit. it's shutting down by the end of the year Microsoft: says a China-aligned hacking group used AI helpers against hundreds of organizations. some fully taken over in under 3 hours Ahold Delhaize: the owner of Food Lion and Stop & Shop pulled its websites and apps offline after an attack and that's not even half the list AI helpers are now doing the hacking. one hacker broke into more than 100 companies with them. about $50 a break-in security experts are openly rattled. one at Johns Hopkins calls the internet "dry tinder". a former OpenAI researcher says it feels like March 1, 2020 for online security and asks if internet lockdowns are a couple of months away if you run a website, use cloud apps, or keep passwords and keys saved online you are potentially affected update everything. change your passwords on key accounts. turn on two-step login (2FA) everywhere. back up what you can't lose this is not a normal week on the internet. this is something different

Microsoft is cooking! Windows 11’s faster app launches released today, and everything is noticeably faster on low-end PCs. Windows 11’s CPU boost feature is no longer just for Start, Search, and shell flyouts. After installing the August 2026 security update, it is now silently active while opening apps too. We tested this on the same PC before and after KB5121003, and the difference is real. Notepad, Calculator, Chrome, VLC, PowerPoint, Weather, and even the Epic Games Store now trigger the same Low Latency Profile behavior Microsoft first rolled out for the Windows shell in June. The moment you open an app, Windows briefly pushes the CPU close to its maximum frequency for one to three seconds, finishes the launch work faster, and then drops back to idle. This is called “race to sleep,” and it is not a lazy trick. macOS and Linux already do similar things. CPU utilization does not spike the same way, so this is not your PC suddenly working harder forever. It is a short frequency burst to make Windows feel more responsive. I know people love mocking Windows performance, and often for good reason, but this one actually works. Apps open faster now, especially on budget and older PCs where every second of delay is noticeable. Windows 11 is finally getting the kind of performance work it should have had from day one.
