designers love to hate on raw, unfinished things. redesigning the whole ios/watchos/macos/... ui after a decade is a brutal challenge for any design team! almost impossible to satisfy the expectation. most haters around here have never designed in a large organization like apple and are not aware of challenges such as politcs, opiniated stakeholder, impossible deadlines, the list goes on... i empathise with the ui designers in apple. yes! os26 and liquid glass feels rough at the moment! so did the ios7 at launch. it evolved. this will too. i appreciate the brave direction apple has taken with this liquid glass ui. yes it comes with challenges including readability, compatibility and more... let's stop b*tching about it and contribute to solutionise these challenges.

No one knew what the app truly looked like, so weekly a bunch of designers would get into a meeting room and check that the engineers correctly implemented the figma designs that they made Now with coding agents throughput of changes has increased an order of magnitude and it has become impossible to manually keep up. Here we used the Revyl CLI to create a flow of every state in the Uber design, by navigating our mobile use agent on an cloud iOS simulator. This is something that would have taken a team of designers tens of hours to recreate manually; All done in less than an hour asynchronously with a simple prompt. He'll admit it himself that at times he hasn't been at his best when he has been fit and available. But that cameo today off the bench, that assist for Trossard.... The way he took responsibility, went and got the ball, broke the game open and made the decisive moment happen. Outstanding. A captain's moment when his team needed him the most. You could see what it meant to him.

I love it when a retail store design incorporates inspiration from its surrounding location. Kudos to Checkers in Franschhoek for this superb design. A beautiful shopping experience and they have a Starbucks too. Woolworths next door has also incorporated the essence of the area with an entrance covered in hanging grape vines and a generous wine selection from the local farms in the area. Considering the store size, the number of wines on offer is impressive. There’s no doubt that safe, leafy suburbs are becoming the suburbs of choice for South Africans. Office workers are securing office space closer to home and therefore more community shopping centres and store upgrades are coming up closer to home. The Winelands has exceptional demand for housing at the moment and even more so for secure, industrial sites. With very limited warehouse space in the Paarl, Stellenbosch, Wellington, Klapmuts and Simondium areas - there is an opportunity for commercial landlords to develop industrial parks that offer micro-units as well as security. There is also an opportunity for the storage players in the industrial sector to develop within the area. With so much space and plenty of farms, I can only see commercial opportunities for office, retail and warehousing in the Winelands.

Apple celebrates its 50th birthday next week, which is a reminder that “Forrest Gump” has Hollywood’s best angel investment ever: Gump and Lt. Dan early in Apple. On the other hand, he thought Apple was a fruit company and is financially illiterate…so Gump is likely still holding that stake, which is now worth $300B+ (my calculator broke trying to figure out the ROI).

Met this guy yesterday night on my charity run. I give away all my clothes in the beginning of every year. After the donation him and I had a great chat then took his number. He is an entrepreneur, he just got that electric bike for deliveries and opened a new company a month ago to try cultivate his future. What an amazing human being. Sharing this because of the inspiration Ive drawn from this, most importantly this taught me without courage we are nothing, the courage to fight for your space in the world. Happy New Year❤️
