The IDF publishes footage of its new deployment in southern Lebanon, after Hezbollah began attacking Israel. Troops have pushed deeper into southern Lebanon in recent days, with the IDF saying it assumed “forward defensive positions to establish an additional defensive layer to remove the threats to the residents of northern Israel." The 146th Reserve Division is deployed to the western portion of southern Lebanon, the 91st "Galilee" Regional Division is operating in the east, and the 210th "Bashan" Regional Division is operating in the Mount Dov area, the army says. The IDF says the forces include infantry, armored, and combat engineering troops.

This is a great achievement, and we are maintaining it as long as Hezbollah does not disarm, as long as there is a danger to the State of Israel. This is also a great blow to Iran. Iran is trying to force us to withdraw from southern Lebanon by force. And in essence, Israel, Lebanon, and the United States are telling them - this is none of your business. Incredible to see the representatives of Israel and Lebanon sitting around a table for the first time in generations. These are the fruits of “peace through strength.” It’s not a coincidence that this comes on the same day as Hezbollah’s stronghold of Bint Jbeil has fallen. Bint Jbiel was where Hassan Nasrallah promised to destroy the “weak as a spider’s web” State of Israel in 2000, came after Ehud Barak—in the name of peace, but really in search of a personal peace prize—withdrew Israel’s forces. Weakness brought 25 years of war. This weakness allowed the IRGC to turn southern Lebanon into a weapon against Israel, all in defence of its nuclear programme—this trashed Lebanon economically and demographically. That nuclear programme is now just dust, and will be kept that way for as long as the IRGC retains control. But the proxies are wrecked, reduced to shadows of their former selves by careful and consistent waves of Israeli attacks and incursions. Each time they are weakened. This time their fortified border villages are being completely expunged. Soon there will be peace between Israel and Lebanon. Israel will have freed Lebanon from Iranian hegemony. Lebanon will thrive in alliance with Israel as surely as it was trashed by Iranian domination.
