Absolutely - will share the open source repo on it all but still tweaking/dialing in. Today I'm revising some additional steps and looking at a new adaptive algorithm to retain even more detail. Currently things cap at 16m polygons so some of the models are 20-30m before decimation, if I can get adaptive decimation I can push more details and they'll look even better. So, next week should have things in place and I'll share the repo.

oh may.. 3D Gaussian Splat is so crazy now last time we need weeks to turn a room into a 3D model.. now with AI 3DGS, you do it in seconds… even zoom into the text and looks perfect give it like 6 months… you can turn a whole city into a full detailed 3D model

New paper from Apple - Sharp Monocular View Synthesis in Less than a Second Mescheder et al. @ Apple just released a very impressive paper (congrats! 🎉🥳). You give it an image and it generates a really great looking 3d Gaussian representation. Uses depth pro. It's really good. The model is about 3GB, and takes ~5-10s on my M1 Max per image. Single feedforward pass network. The video is using "Metal Splatter" to view the .ply from ml-sharp on Apple Vision Pro. Some really wow moments today trying it on different scenes.

The goal isn't despair, it's indifference. It's enlightenment. It's having the ability to step in and out of the muck as you see fit without a handler or a sponsor coming down on you for it. This is a multi-modal world model that you can use for a bunch of things: • To generate new worlds • To reconstruct worlds • To simulate 3D interactive worlds from a prompt, images, or a video You can edit the 3D outputs in Unity and Unreal Engine (they export as meshes, 3DGS files, and point clouds). You can also generate 3D characters in the world and walk around. Pretty fun stuff!

Here's a look behind the scenes of how I used a 3d model, generated from an image, as a "driver" for ai animation. In the near future we'll see more 3d tools that support these types of workflows, with much more emphasis on enhancing user input instead of just letting the ai do everything. I used the 3d model to generate keyframes that I then animated in Luma Dream. By using a 3d model with a diffusion "layer" done with Krea, I got quite high quality frames with a relatively high consistency as well since the AI didn't have to "hallucinate" that much. I upscaled and detailed the frames using Magnific. Using semi-detailed 3d models as drivers for gen ai is very powerful, and it allows us to use models that are sculpted in a more free-flowing type of workflow that doesn't rely so much on high surface detailing or very time-consuming finish, but instead relies more on gestural 3d sculpting. #art #ai

Let me tell you why and how. - ShapesXR is the most powerful and fastest way to assemble 3D scenes at scale. - The library of assets + ability to sketch from procedural primitives gives the perfect balance between speed and freedom. - ShapesXR allows you to export your creation as a glTF that can be used as a "3D prompt" into Marble - Marble now allows you to create a panorama using a 3D scene as input increasing DRAMATICALLY the control you have during the creation process - Through the workflow you can adjust textures and objects in the scene using AI inpainting - There are tons of options on how to use the final output (create a #GaussianSplatting, export collision mesh and even a detailed mesh 🤯) This is the perfect examples of how VR creative tools improve and accelerate the design process... so make sure to follow me if that's your jam 😉.

Look at how crispy this 3d gaussian splat came out! The reflections in the painting have me floored. Captured with a Sony a7iii camera and 18mm lens. I posed the imagery using epic's reality capture and trained it with lichtfeld studio. Lichtfeld is my new favorite way to train splats -- it integrates all the latest research and it’s completely free. Also what I love about 3d capture -- you can process old datasets with new algorithms and breathe new life into them.

I created a cute 3D character in minutes instead of hours using this combo: Unbound + Tripo I’m not a 3D artist, but this made the whole process feel simple, playful, and actually accessible. Unbound helped me shape the character idea, then Tripo turned it into a 3D model without the usual complicated workflow If you are a 3D artist or you are just starting, try Unbound. h3 max multi-angle is insane because it's essentially a world model, and producing results like this in 3 seconds makes it amongst the fastest! i made this little app if you want to try this specific 'freeze-frame' type of effect, but the model can be used for any controllable camera motion in a 3D scene
