This was my job many years back 🥲🥲 it was one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever had at work. You need to have the patience of a monk and a genuine love to teach what you want to enjoy this.

I’ve sat in a few of those classes, I’m the worst photographer ever and wanted to learn how to get the most out of the camera, definitely worth a free hour of your day

Used to work at Apple and we always had the sweetest elderly people attend these classes. I remember one of them said “I need to learn how to use this thing so I can talk to my grandbabies via the messages.” 🥹

Writing notes about "swipe left twice, tap on F to open Facebook" is such a boomer thing.

Honestly mad respect for them for still trying to learn even at that age. Shoutout the MVP taking notes. Actually beautiful.

it’s so good honestly, i gave my grandmother a phone 6 months ago but she doesn’t know how to use it so next time i go meet her i will explain her everything.

That’s the price we pay for the Apple Experience. It is not just for elders. Anyone who wants to can learn from their free sessions at available Apple Stores. They even have sessions on how to take the most out of their cameras. That’s awesome.

this is such a good idea! i’ve seen first hand how much they struggle with it, and im sure its infuriating to them. but im sure once im old, there will be some new tech that i didnt get the chance to master in my younger years.

‘Today at Apple’ has really cool classes on niche apps they have including camera usage. Very worth the free sign up and attendance.

I did this early in iPhone releases from 2007-2009. 80% of my students were 60+. It was a lot fun seeing them learn the products and use them well.

People dunking on Apple that it is losing the AI race should see this.

Now, it’s a great idea. The only thing though is that the Apple Support YouTube channel also has quick tutorials on how to do certain things on your Apple devices, so maybe taking a trip to the Apple Store just to learn how to use your phone may be a bit much, but I love this.
