HODGES: Unfortunately, US under this administration is no longer dependable or reliable when it comes to Russia. Trump administration is unwilling to criticize Putin, they don’t support Ukraine in any meaningful way. That's why, it's in best interest of Europe that Ukraine continues to be successful in stopping Russia. Because if Ukraine falls, then Europe has to deal with consequences, no matter what US would do or not. We shouldn't look at Russia as country we wish it to be, but as country it currently appears to be.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said the United States is not ready to follow through on its proposals on Ukraine made in Anchorage. He said Washington continues sanctions pressure on Russia and described it as an economic war, accusing the US of trying to force partners to buy American LNG instead of Russian energy. The President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, just issued this stern warning to Trump: “The European Union supports Denmark and the people of Greenland. And we do so united in our resolve. The measures threatened over the weekend by the United States administration will not help improve security in the Arctic. In fact, they risk the opposite. Russia invading Ukraine, bombing cities every night. America should be unashamedly on the right side — the side of democracy, the side of Ukraine, country that wants to align with us. I’ve waited year and a half in this Congress to get something done on Ukraine, and we’ve done nothing.
