To the extent this is VR headset, completely agree, very few people want that… To the extent this is an AR headset, I completely disagree. Strongly believe AR will be the next wave of personal computing *when done right* and this is first step. Looking at Oculus as a comp is not helpful - nobody wants to wear a zuck face computer, that’s not remotely cool - conversely MANY PEOPLE want to use Apple products to signal their wealth and “coolness” Apple has been only company to successful get us to wear technology (remember how ridiculous AirPods seemed at first) and while this is not gonna be overnight at $3k — the eventual FOMO from all of your friends literally seeing / interacting with a digital world you can’t see without the glasses will drive mass adoption faster than I think many people anticipate.. TLDR; AR > VR

Hi Scott! This reminds me of Steve's inglorious forecast.

Love you Big Dog. You are wrong on this one. It will open up a new round of innovation and software development that will feed many for decades. Moore's Law applied to the size reduction and ubiquity of hardware will make the speed of this adoption revolutionary.

I’ll take the bet. Apple VR has a target that isn’t just metaverse. “This year, the gaming industry is expected to be worth more than $170 billion in global revenues, five times greater than global movie box office revenues.” Meta failed on software - Apple will not.

it won’t be a product for everyone, but there are definitely usecases with education and gaming that can be powered with VR

Other great predictions by you: - Macy's is the future of retail, not Amazon - By 2020 a third of computing will be done on voice-powered device without screens - Twitter will collapse within 1 week after Elon Musk takeover Surely the one about Apple's headset will age better 🤡
