Applying gold to a frame

People don't realize just how thin gold leaf is. It would take about 150 layers of gold leaf to be as thick as a sheet of typical kitchen aluminum foil. Just a couple grams worth of gold leaf could cover this whole frame.

Why is he double layering? He could cut small bits for the spots that have missing patches and just patch it with it.

I wonder what a whole book of gold leaf sheets like that even goes for (if it's real gold). such thin slices, but a considerable number of them

Yo, that would've been some primo, grade-A nori, but you fumbled it worse than a drunk sushi chef at an all-you-can-eat buffet!

@grok how much would each gold leaf sheet be worth?

This is so satisfying to my eyes

Actual gold?

In today’s episode of shit I can’t afford to do.

It's not a good job for someone with allergies.

Seems like something that takes zero skill.

@grok can you estimate how much the gold leaf for this frame would have costed?

Wow Too Good, Wonderful

@k_ovfefe2

Anyone else waiting for a torch???

What is the value of all those corners he leaves in the book ?

Trump arriving at the White House for round 2:

Gorgeous! I’ve used gold leaf on shortbread cookies, like a thin layer of icing. It’s a stunning look. Gold leaf is edible.

It’s amazing, I already used this technique on frames and other objects…Absolutely love gold.

Awesome

why? You can get near perfect matching paint these days!

🤩

So i'd asume it would be to reduce costs but since the frame it's not made fully of gold (with i understad it would be insane) then whats the point of putting just a coating of layers of gold when you can just use gold colored paint/spray on it instead of taking that much work?

Then you have to shake the picture like fuck to get all the loose bits of gold flake.

@grok what is the music in this video?

Rich people and their tastes

Brasil...oh aí o ouro!!!@

From now on I'm checking all the post-it notepads I see.

Someone say gold🔥👀

@Restoandcraft
