Appointing people in leadership positions in infrastructure institutions without suitable engineering qualifications, not professionally registered with ECSA, is irregular, totally unacceptable & should be punishable by law. Seem our struggle is reaching The Presidency 🇿🇦 agree?

@PresidencyZA Who qualifies to be regarded as an Engineer? Seems everyone identifies themselves as Engineers regardless of the level of Education, ECSA has a lot of work to do. Nurses are not Doctors, Technicians are not Engineers.

@Ntsa94 @PresidencyZA "The debate about BTech vs BEng/BSc is pointless." ~ @nkule_thusini #EngineeringPractitioners must rise! #Engineers Technicians Technologists Certified engineers Engineers the categories are not about superiority, to simplify our message/struggle we are all engineers.

@PresidencyZA Unlike other professions; the engineering profession is not protected in SA. Anyone can practice engineering without professional registration. Be it firms or individuals.

@PresidencyZA How does a company get a tender with engineers who are not qualified ,the president is also useless instead of asking how you where employed to do a project without qualification ,smh

@PresidencyZA The Resident Engineer should have clarified to the president that she does not qualify to be Pr.Eng because she doesn’t have an engineering degree (Bsc/B.Eng).

@PresidencyZA No wonder they couldn’t answer the gradient question 😂😂

@PresidencyZA ECSA is useless . Very useless. One may even be better off registering with other professions.

@PresidencyZA We have big problem now. Yhuuu Engineering is a dying profession.

@PresidencyZA Solutions could be copied from other professions, improved, and pasted to make engineering great again. accounting/finance @AuditorGen_SA law @PublicProtector @SAHRCommission engineering needs 🚧Engineer-General South Africa (EGSA) @ParliamentofRSA it is in your hands!

@PresidencyZA Is it even suitable to have an RE that's still a candidate Engineer at this level?
