What is an infection? Infection is when a harmful organism cause illness. It can either be caused by bacteria, fungi or virus.. usually What are antibiotics first? They are those medicines that kill or stop the growth of bacteria. They don’t kill or stop fungi, or virus like HIV. ONLY bacteria How do people abuse antibiotics then?🤷🏽‍♂️ 1. Taking antibiotics without a prescription or obvious need determined by a medic 2. Using them for viral infections like colds or flu 3. Not finishing the full dose 4. Sharing antibiotics with others (Septrim don suffer for here) 5. Using leftover drugs from a past illness 6. Using antibiotics in animals and farming 7. Taking the wrong type of antibiotic (ampiclox for flushing) 8. Skipping doses 9. Health providers prescribing when not needed (sometimes under pressure) 10. Poor hygiene in hospitals 11. Lack of public awareness on proper use (thank you @aproko_doctor) If it continues they would become use-less and simple infections like those from cuts could cut life short 🤦🏾
