Palmer Luckey’s advice for founder-led communications “My advice to people would probably be to recognize that the value of your reputation is very high,” Anduril founder Palmer Luckey begins. “If people do not trust you; if they do not believe in what you’re saying; if they do not think that you’re a person worth listening to, they’re going to have a hard time working with you.” Palmer also argues that founders don’t need to be neutral: “You don’t need to be neutral. You can be a propagandist. You can advocate for a particular point of view . . . People's need to punish dissenters is often a confession of doubt. If something is obviously true, you don’t need to punish people for refusing to say it. We don’t have to coerce agreement that the sky is blue. Everyone can see it. But when an idea is uncertain, fragile, or possibly untrue, the pressure to enforce belief becomes stronger. You have to punish dissent because the consensus itself is doing the work. The point is not merely to recognize what is true, but to make everyone publicly affirm the same thing as true.

It is easy to love when there is distance because you don’t have to meet or share anything with that person. But when you are close up, they will step on your boundaries. Then you feel that person is a problem. But if you create a little distance between yourself and your personality, you will see you will enjoy yourself. Then everyone is wonderful because now you see people for who they are, not for whether they fit into some framework. #SadhguruWisdom

Not gagging anyone? And yet I’m being asked to relocate and become a permanent fixture. That alone should have told you this was not a conversation you were equipped for. What you’re reading as a lack of energy is actually a lack of access. Not everything is meant to register at your level and that’s okay. Discernment is not a universal skill. I don’t measure myself by people who have no proximity to the room, the process, or the people making decisions. The ones who matter seem very clear on what I bring. But if you ever find yourself in Vegas let me know. I will gladly get you a ticket and a meet and greet so you can say all of this directly to me.
