Are the Bears broke?

Talk about taking Adam Schefter completely out of context. He was referencing going after Maxx Crosby and the salary cap and used colorful language to drive a point. The Bears aren't broke. If they are, I want to be Bears broke.

It's idiotic. The "poor" Bears churn probably $1B in cash annually while having access to hundreds of millions in short term debt to cover bonus escrows.

They have a bunch of over paid defensive players for sure !

The Bears have allocated the 3rd most amount money in the NFL to their salary cap. They only have 6.5 million left and they still need to sign the drafted and undrafted players when that happens.

This just isn't the year to splurge in free agency, we are going to have a lot more cap room next year.

@LaurenceWHolmes Pat Ryan is an owner in the Bears. He’s worth like 7 billion dollars. Couldn’t he provide cash in hand if the Bears need it? Or is that not allowed by NFL rules?
