Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons (2013) is a fantasy comedy film co-written, produced, and co-directed by Stephen Chow. It serves as a loose prequel to the classic Chinese novel, following aspiring Buddhist monk Tang Sanzang as he tries to protect villages from powerful demons using gentle methods like nursery rhymes instead of violence. He teams up with skilled demon hunter Miss Duan, develops feelings for her, and faces major threats including a river demon, a pig demon, and the legendary Monkey King. The movie features over-the-top action, creative demon-taming scenes where captured demons turn into small doll-like puppets, and Chow's signature mix of humor and spectacle. #FantasyComedy 𝕏 #WuxiaAction
