If accurate, that's one of the coolest gadgets I've seen.

This isn't dumb. It's efficient; the robot didn't take anyone's job, it just made work easier.

As a former home inspector, I promise the framers will fuck this up

For better or for worse robots are going to be infused with artificial intelligence and be able to do many physical tasks. People have to rethink what they do what they’re going to be able to do in the future now because the shift will be quick. It will be efficient and it’s happening.

Seen these used. Pretty awesome. If there's discrepancy in the plans or something that's not going to work, seeing it drawn on the slab is A LOT better than scratching your head wondering what part of Job you're going to have to tear out.

This is a huge increase in efficiency. You can't fight against the future. There's no putting the genie back in the bottle when it comes to tech.

Those things have been around for 10 years. If we had more people joining the trades maybe we wouldn't be exploring robotic replacements so fast. You're going to be ok

No job site has a floor that clean. Until that thing can move around obstacles or move shit out of the way itself we aren't doomed. This is pretty rad though. The future looks precise

Or. We can use this tech to make homes more affordable and build better. It's all about how the technology is applied.

This is what an architect used to do when the house was roughed in. As a kid, I remember holding chalk lines that were snapped for the wall positions.

That is amazing and everyone should be thrilled. No more human error in construction, which means things will be completed on-time and on-budget more often.

I think we were already doomed letting unskilled, sloppy builders have at it. Looks like a step in the right direction to me.

It’s good until the flooring goes in. And the floors are rarely that perfect. But it’s progress.

If we loose the ability to think about proper layouts in construction we are doomed

🇵🇷FintechNerd🇺🇸's profile picture

Badass. It's way better to have a robot do the measurements. When the framers arrive they can hit the ground running. One downside to this is that it's common for construction blueprints to be changed throughout the building process. If the work is at an accelerated stage and major changes are needed it can be expensive to tear everything down and rebuild. This is common and can eat into budgets.
