We all would like a man who could read us that perfectly. It showed her that he has listened to her. It shows that she is important enough to be on his mind for a good part of the time, (hence multiple gifts from multiple places)

I'd love the rocks and other items, too! But let's not forget the women who throw a fit if their FIRST DATE doesn't cost hundreds of dollars or isn't at a nice enough place. A lot of women ARE very complicated and superficial and wouldn't be happy with a rock.
