Kabagambe spokesperson of the University of Rwanda University of Rwanda when asked to delete tweets attacking a young woman who said she was “broke” and urged Government of Rwanda Ministry of Youth and Arts | Rwanda to address youth poverty. Instead of respecting her right to free expression, he publicly humiliated her, branding her an “enemy of the state”-a label with serious consequences. BBC News Africa reports indicate she later suffered psychological distress. In his defense, Kabagambe claimed that when the President speaks harshly, no one questions him, so he owes explanations to no one and only answers to Paul Kagame. The silence of Rwanda Investigation Bureau reinforces the perception that accountability in #Rwanda is selective. Imagine if someone said, “Soon we are going to bring war to the USA, since the international community stands with us.” Do you think the FBI or CIA would just scroll past the video? Why would Rwanda sit idly by when a Congolese member of parliament firmly confirms that the international community stands with Congo, and therefore they are going to bring war to Rwanda because Rwanda is small? Do you think Secretary Marco Rubio would just ignore it? Why do they think Rwanda can simply ignore this? This Willy Mishiki added that they are going to make the war a media war,which they are already doing by misleading the international community! How is the victim being treated medically and psychologically? And what about the bystanders who witnessed this brutal act; are they receiving any psychological support?
