"Are you an error repeater? Do you make the same mistake the next day? If that's the case, it's hard to put a player out there that does that" Brian Daboll with a thoughtful answer on how he evaluates players during training camp:

Draymond Green says the problem he has with Stephen A is he disrespects NBA players as if he is a player himself: “You very much so right up there at the top… A lot of players having a relationship with you, were facts. Until you started to disrespect players as if you were a player. There’s a fine line… Stephen A the problem I have is you get upset about the very thing that you do. You get so upset and bent out of shape about the very same thing that you do.” (Via The Draymond Green Show)

Q: The strike on the girls' school in Iran, you said it was a terrible mistake. Why was it important to say that? GOP. Senator: I think it's the truth. The kids are still dead. That's the sort of thing Russia does, we don't do that. When you make a mistake, you ought to admit it

Connor Zary is bang on with this take. "When you have younger guys with talent and skill, you don't want to hold them back. You don't want to put a leash on them, right? At the end of the day, who gives a shit if they go out there an make a mistake. It's going to happen."

Thought this was a great answer from Nickeil Alexander-Walker on the correct mentality to have about earning the opportunity to close games. "If you wanna play, you gotta effect winning. For me, that's what I've learned. The best way to make sure I'm out there is 'how do I effect the team in a positive way?' And that's one of the things I've been hanging my hat on." Asked if he's surprised by how few players have that mentality around the league. He said Mike Conley told him it's important to understand: "What got you here won't get you there."

John Harbaugh fields multiple questions related to the state of Baltimore's offensive line: "You put the best five players out there, the five guys who are playing the best. That's what you do. That's not even a hard answer. ... Yeah, we're putting the best five players out there, and they're playing pretty darn good. ... None of our positions are perfect, but they're trying to be. We put our best group out there and we fight." via Baltimore Ravens

Aaron Glenn was asked if he prefers to build the team's ecosystem and then put in a young quarterback or vice versa: "I think it depends on, where's your team at right now? You always look at that. Do you have the talent or the skill on the outside, in the backfield to be able to say, 'listen, we're going to get a rookie quarterback and let those guys make plays for him.' Do you have a guy already? And usually if you have a guy, he can make the skill players look better than what they are, too. To me, it always depends on who you have. That's why I want to answer that question, because it's tough to answer just straight on."

🗣️ Mikel Arteta on the possibility of players leaving who have been here a long time: "It's a really, really tough moment, you need to face that reality. But you need to face it with real honesty and transparency because when you are on the other side, that's exactly what you need. "You might not like what you've been told, but if it's truthful, if it's the reality, if it's honest and it's going to help you to make better decisions and have more clarity for the next steps in your career, you have to do that. "These are always very difficult conversations, but they need to be done. It's like when a player doesn't feel that he belongs or he's important, he wants to have a different chapter, I think that communication has to exist and it has to be both ways. "We all know, everything has a start and has an end. When it comes to the end, I think our duty, our responsibility is to do it in the best possible way, maintaining the respect and admiration for the player and the relationship, but understanding that at the end, we need to make football decisions."

How do you replace a player like this? How do you replace Bernardo Silva? You can’t. That's the only answer. There isn’t a single midfielder (or player) in the game right now who can replace him. He doesn’t exist.

Brian Daboll was asked if there is a disconnect between what the Giants' coaches are trying to teach and how the players are receiving it: "We didn't get the results. Our guys are working, stuff we work on each week. It's not getting done."

How can players make a big jump next year?!?! For High School and College players… they all put in work with their coaches. Most of them have a trainer they see to put in work. So what is the separator? 1. Are you working on the right things with your coaches that are going to help you be a better player working your team and overall 2. HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU PUT IN THE GYM ON YOUR OWN. This is a HUGE SEPARATOR because this time isn’t dependent on anyone and is unlimited in how much you do. Almost every player I’ve worked with that has made a BIG JUMP has put in extra time on their own. It’s not only because of the work, but it also helps players understand their game better and gives them a bigger investment in their development. As a player you should assess that part of your development today!

"I think he's a good manager. He's one of the better managers. If he was out there right now, he'd get a job rather quickly. Because of our environment, he's someone that can be second-guessed ten million times over. I don't care who you put in that, it would be the same with whoever else is in there. The guarantee is always that we're going to be fighting for it - that's the one thing that the Steinbrenner family provides for this city is constantly having a team that you can put forth that you believe is capable of a championship. That's the job that we'll be doing once again next year. The championship caliber intent is always there." - Brian Cashman on Aaron Boone

"It was good. We got a little vibe in training camp before the injury. Off the court, it's a great vibe. On the court, it's even better. It's a lot of space out there." Jalen Green on playing with Devin Booker. On if he can recall having that much space: "Next question." #Suns #ClipperNation

Mikel Arteta on how hard it is to sign the best players: "But that's the demands, I think, as you said. I think for the margins to improve, there are very few players in the market that are available to do that and bring that to the club. But again, we are actively looking to improve that and we're going to try."

"I cannot surround people with things that are underperforming the quality of engineering we want to do." "The most fundamental design error that you can possibly make is create a falseness in a product that make people predictably do the wrong thing. So I make a big deal out of these kind of things. I cannot surround people with things that are underperforming the quality of engineering we want to do. And that's down to the detail of the doors in the office. From the inside perspective, you have to sweat all the details. The way you do anything is how you do everything." —tobi lutke
