The Ashtavakra Gita is indeed a bit like the Matrix, there are many more parallels from that text to the Matrix but that is one. Just like the theory forwarded in the Inception about a dream within a dream within a dream, multiple alternate realities all existing all at once is there in the Mandukya Upanishad.

That’s what all eastern philosophy stems from - the illusion of maya - and to exit the matrix one strives to attain mukti/moksha/enlightenment - The Sikhs have their own path - as do other dharmic traditions -

The illusion that the Indian sages talk about is the illusion that we are physical bodies with a spirit. While, we are actually spiritual beings with a body. Know the truth and the truth shall set you free.

Connecting with higher consciousness seems to be a way to break free from the shackles of the 'matrix', but many forces make that hard to do!

Hinduism is the oldest religion on earth. So many exp left behind.

There was an Indian Vedic scholar Adi Shankaracharya who explained the concept of true reality in 8th century. Like in your dream whatever you see feels real until you wake up and realises it was a dream, similarly there is a reality beyond this actual worldly reality. When we attain it, we will realise that the world we are living in actually not real, basically kind of a matrix. I don’t know how much of that is real or it’s just philosophical. But knowing that we humans literally know a fraction of a percentage of everything, anything is possible.

Try reading and more importantly understanding the 8888 verses of Jay Samhita, it’s a part of Mahabharata the epic. It’ll knock your socks off.

Said it last year itself. Matrix series is a copy of Indian philosophy. Although a modernised copy and much farther from the truth.

It is because concept of matrix is a copy of hindu concept maya(illusion). Ashtavakra gita is straight blunt explaination to true reality while bhagvad gita gives the same in hidden, prose riddle way.
