🌋 Today Is the Moment Crypto Became Part of U.S. Banking Today, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency issued conditional approvals for national trust bank charters tied to crypto and digital assets, including Ripple, Circle, Fidelity Digital Assets, Paxos, and BitGo. The federal banking system is changing in real time. Two new national trust banks: • Ripple National Trust Bank • First National Digital Currency Bank (Circle) Three state trust companies converting to federal banks: • Fidelity Digital Assets • Paxos • BitGo A national trust bank is a federally chartered institution focused on custody, trust, and fiduciary services, not retail deposits. That places crypto custody and stablecoin infrastructure directly under OCC supervision, instead of fragmented state-by-state frameworks. Zoom out and the pattern is clear: • DTCC approved to tokenize DTC-custodied assets • OCC confirms banks can buy and sell crypto for clients • Stablecoins gain regulatory clarity • Now crypto trust banking goes federal One detail worth paying attention to: BitGo, now moving into the federal banking perimeter, is also a Hedera Governing Council member. That puts a federally regulated crypto custodian directly inside the governance of a public network already being used for enterprise and government use cases. At the same time, Hedera’s end-of-year community call brings together network leadership, council voices, and technical leads to discuss enterprise adoption, real-world deployments, and what scales next. From the filings: • Circle’s charter supports USDC reserve and collateral management • Ripple’s charter supports RLUSD and institutional digital asset custody Worth noting: Ripple Custody already supports multiple networks, including HBAR, SOL, ADA, BTC, ETH, XLM, and others. This is not about one chain. It’s not about hype or short-term price action. It’s about regulated financial plumbing being installed inside the U.S. banking system. Crypto isn’t knocking on the door anymore. It’s being wired into the foundation.

My conversation with Rob Hadick >|<. As General Partner at Dragonfly, Rob has one of the clearest views on how blockchain is evolving from speculative crypto into the actual infrastructure of global capital markets. In this episode we dig into why finance, payments, asset issuance, and markets are the only parts of crypto that are truly scaling and how the industry is quietly becoming TradFi’s onchain upgrade. We spend a lot of time mapping traditional capital markets primitives directly onto blockchain rails and examining where value is actually going to accrue as tokenization, stablecoins, and onchain trading mature. At the center of the conversation is the belief that blockchain is no longer building a parallel financial system it is becoming the settlement, issuance, and trading layer for the existing one, while crypto itself settles into a more mature “capital markets +” phase focused on real assets, institutional flows, and sustainable business models. We discuss: - The current state of crypto as capital markets infrastructure and the decline of pure speculative narratives - Why finance, payments, and tokenization are winning while most other crypto applications struggle - The architectural parallel between traditional capital markets and on-chain systems - Tokenized assets = Securities - Stablecoins = Cash / settlement - DEXs & on-chain venues = Exchanges - Prediction markets = Information markets - Why institutions are moving on-chain and what they actually want (control, privacy, segregated markets) - Token vs equity: where value accrues in a non-Clarity Act world - The mass extinction event in crypto VC and why Dragonfly is doubling down on financial infrastructure - Stablecoins, RWAs, and the real path to “tokenization of everything” - Prediction markets (and why Polymarket matters) as the next interface layer - Sustainable business models and where value will ultimately capture Timestamps: 0:00 – Introduction & State of Crypto as Capital Markets 2:00 – Why Speculative Narratives Are Fading 7:00 – Finance, Payments & Tokenization as the Only Scaling Verticals 12:00 – Institutional Adoption & What Wall Street Actually Wants 18:00 – Token vs Equity Value Accrual 25:00 – Blockchain as the New Settlement & Issuance Layer 35:00 – Prediction Markets, Information & the Next Interface 45:00 – Crypto VC Consolidation & Dragonfly’s Thesis 55:00 – Real-World Assets, Stablecoins & On-Chain Markets 1:05:00 – Closing Thoughts: Where Value Accrues Next Enjoy!

Today, SEC Chair Paul Atkins announced Project Crypto in a landmark speech, a bold initiative to modernize U.S. securities regulation for the blockchain era. His vision charts a clear path forward, one that embraces tokenized securities, stablecoins, and crypto-native infrastructure as core components of American capital markets. Chairman Atkins acknowledged what many in the industry have long experienced: U.S. regulatory ambiguity pushed innovation offshore, leaving both entrepreneurs and investors behind. But the momentum behind tokenization is undeniable: “...firms from household names on Wall Street to unicorn tech companies in Silicon Valley are lined up at our doors with requests to tokenize.” Today’s message is unambiguous: the U.S. must lead in tokenized finance, not follow. At Ondo, we’ve long believed that real-world assets onchain are not a niche innovation, they’re the future operating system of global markets. Project Crypto proposes laying a framework for modernizing markets: 1. Regulatory clarity around tokenized stocks, bonds, and other securities 2. Support for compliant crypto asset distributions, including ICOs and airdrops 3. Modernized custody rules, reaffirming the right to self-custody 4. A vision for “super-apps” that unify crypto services under one regulatory umbrella 5. Innovation exemptions to bring breakthrough technologies to market faster Legacy frameworks have excluded U.S. investors from innovation, and Project Crypto promises the opposite: a future where American capital formation happens onchain, and U.S. markets lead. We are encouraged by Chairman Atkins' vision and committed to building the infrastructure that will power America's tokenized economy.

If you do anything today, please listen to this 3-min clip on what Co-CEO Joseph Chalom refers to as The ETH Opportunity... FYI, Joe is the former Head of Digital Assets Strategy at BlackRock, who drove the creation of IBIT, ETHA, and BUIDL. "The more assets and transactions that are secured on the Ethereum network, have been proven to increase the value of ETH..." "If you look at the last 5 years, for each $2 secured on the network, on Ethereum and the L2s, it's driven about $1 of market cap value of Ethereum [ETH]..." "And if you take a step back and say stablecoins are at this size today, but Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent says it's gonna grow to a trillion over the next 3 years, if you look at the adoption of RWAs, which is in the first inning and can literally go j-curve, the value of tokenized assets which could be measured in the trillions or tens of trillions... they are gonna be secured by a decentralized network. We believe the vast majority is gonna be Ethereum. That is a bull case for ETH..." "If more assets are secured on the Ethereum network, the value of ETH will go up, and the value of it being a trust commodity, the highest value of money, is gonna be critically important if you believe we are at a paradigm shift, and that's what I call the ETH opportunity. It's not a trade, it's an ETH opportunity." "And for all of those who feel like they missed the early days of crypto, you are at still a very early entry point in the adoption of Ethereum and that is the long term ETH opportunity, not the ETH trade." ACCELERATE 🚀

🚨BREAKING: SEC CHARGES FLAMBOYANT HEX FOUNDER RICHARD HEART FOR MISAPPROPRIATING MILLIONS IN $1 BILLION CRYPTO RAISE The SEC has charged Richard Heart, the founder of one of Crypto's most controversial projects and the owner of a plethora of luxury goods, including the world's biggest diamond. BREAKDOWN OF CHARGES: 1) Conducting unregistered crypto asset security offerings The offering raised more than $1 billion in crypto assets from investors. Heart attempted to evade securities laws by asking investors to “sacrifice” crypto assets, instead of "invest" in exchange for PLS and PLSX tokens. 2) Misappropriation of funds The value of the misappropriation is approximately $12 million, the SEC stated. Heart allegedly called on investors to buy crypto asset securities in offerings that he failed to register. He then defrauded those investors by spending some of their crypto assets on exorbitant luxury goods, including sports cars, watches, and a 555-carat black diamond known as ‘The Enigma’. 3) Fraud in connection with the sale of the security The SEC claim Heart used a strategy known as “recycling” transactions, that enabled Heart to surreptitiously gain control of more Hex tokens. Heart and his co-conspirators had given the false impression of significant trading volumes and demand for Hex by using their own funds. The SEC estimates up to 97% of the investment volume was Heart and his accomplices’ funds. WHAT'S NEXT: The SEC is seeking injunctive relief, disgorgement of ill-gotten gains plus prejudgment interest, penalties, and other equitable relief. As you probably know by now, the SEC has a very high success rate in winning cases or reaching a settlement when they file charges. At the same time, unregistered token offerings have a history of settling with the SEC for a small amount of money. Remember the EOS settlement with the SEC of $24 million when they raised OVER $4 BILLION IN THEIR ICO? It's important to note that these SEC charges are all civil charges. The SEC cannot file criminal charges. Will the DOJ be next in filing criminal charges? WHAT’S YOUR OPINION OF HEX AND SEC ENFORCEMENT AGAINST CRYPTO?

What Jacob just laid out raises an important question: If the biggest banks and institutions are going hard after Bitcoin exposure, actively launching products and positioning for the future, why wouldn’t you take the same bet they do?
