Mentzer had the mind of an analyst and the body of a statue. Dismissing him would be arrogance. And I don't do arrogance. I'm animal-based. Higher fat. Moderate protein. Low carb. It works for me. My energy is steady. My recovery is sharp. My body composition is the best it's been. But here's what I've learned after years of experimentation: There is no single truth. There is only what works for the individual. Mentzer's high-carb, low-fat approach worked for him. Spectacularly. And for many who followed his logic, it worked too. The intelligent move isn't to defend my way as the only way. It's to study his way and ask: what can I learn? The body is a system. Different inputs affect different people differently. Metabolism. Training style. Genetics. Lifestyle. Stress. Sleep. All of it changes the equation. So I'm not threatened by Mentzer's approach. I'm intrigued. I'll research it. I'll test parts of it. I'll keep what works and discard what doesn't. That's not weakness. That's intelligence. The dogmatist defends. The seeker explores. I'd rather be the seeker. Respect to Mentzer. His mind was as sharp as his physique.

seekers win. you have a lot of good points here and i come from a similar background. let's keep learning.

Everyday is a school day! 💪🏼

sure is

if you want to learn how to use sugar to your advantage, improve your metabolism and: • achieve fat loss • lower your cortisol • get rid of low energy i've created a free guide for you. you'll find it on my profile.

founding father of bioenergetics

he’s definitely up there

"most Intelligent" because he aligned with your own perspective? Interesting.

or because he understood physiology and biology

Body is not constant, multiply that by number of people and you got yourself that many variants of a proper diet.

He was also on steriods so any diet works for him

sure works better, but i still find this to be the best approach, at least to this day

Those workouts were short, but insanely intense. I tried it out for a couple of a months and to be fair didn't really noticed any difference besides less time in the gym.

yeah, people often bash him for it being bs when they don’t even know what failure is

cant agree with this. the human body wants FAT. your brain runs on fat. everyone taking these meds that strip your brain of fat and being on low fat intake literally leads to shit like dementia.

it does not run on fat primarily

Me

😂

Sugar is the biggest killer

wrong

Fat doesnt make you fat.

Oh and ten thousand beers 😂

haha, one or two is enough for me

Tambien era alcolico y enganchado a las meta

unfortunately

He was so full of roids his kidneys were basically tumors themselves and he died young, lonely and depressed. His physique was impressive but spiritually he was as dead as bodybuilding as a sport is.

very unfortunate

Low-fat is the dumbest thing you can do

Mike Mentzer died of a heart attack at 49. Besides being ripped to the bone, I promise you he had undiagnosed Hyper insulinemia and diabetes that lead directly to his heart attack. Its a condition that Strikes nearly EVERY bodybuilder. Its because of how often they eat.

Low fat can’t work for naturals. You need hormones and hormones need fat to be produced. Anyone denying it is dumb as hell.

sipping chocolate milk so that you get a slow drip of carbs gives a huge boost in performance for me. i can almost double my rep in most lifts, i don't think we utilize carbs fully when we consume it all at once.

interesting

And he died at 49 of a massive heart attack due to atherosclerosis

most likely due to genetics, gear and habits outside diet and training

I’m more of a low carb guy but I’ve experimented with both

whatever floats your boat mate 🤝

he was taking so much steroids that he would gain muscles even by eating literal shit

sure, doesn’t mean the take is wrong though

Hmmmm

He was a proponent of equal calories from carbs and fat.

But, is he healthy?

With the information he had access too, yes. I believe he would have significantly would change his strategy today

Take a look at Shawn Baker… Guy is 60 and is ripped and eats only meat!

Don’t forget the special ingredient 💉

that too

Eat low fat if you are injecting toxic unnatural hormones into your ass. Otherwise your body needs the fat to create your hormones

Don't eat like this if you don't consume 3000 kcal daily.

High Meth and High Steroids

He knew the value of crystal meth as a training supplement.

This dude died before 50!!

Don’t forget roids. Lots of roids.

When will they post the steroid cycles ??

K

?

I believe his journals showed high volume during the 70s and then after getting out of competition he came up with this idea.
