You’ve got the freedom to take time off if you need to. They’re fair with wages across the board—that’s number one. Wages and benefits are going to exceed what you get in a non-union job. Like I said, I can travel anywhere in the country and get a job tomorrow. I can get online, check the job line, and call any local. If they’ve got work, they’ll put me on it.

Calling yourself the problem… when all you’ve ever needed was healing. Be careful with your thoughts. What you repeat becomes what you believe. And if you tell yourself you're broken long enough… you’ll forget that you were always whole underneath the pain. So rest. Reflect. And stop punishing yourself for simply being human.

🇳🇬📍I spent a little over three weeks in Nigeria for a strictly private visit and personal pilgrimage, and I’m still struggling to put it all into words. I wrote three different articles and deleted every single one. None of them felt honest enough. None of them could truly hold the weight of what everyday life looks like for ordinary people. So maybe all I can say is this: NIGERIANS ARE RESILIENT. Not because everything is fine, but because sometimes, that’s the only way to keep going. And yet, somehow, in the middle of it all, there is life. There is laughter. There is a kind of joy that refuses to disappear. If you have the means, and if you’re lucky enough to stay untouched by insecurity, Nigeria can feel like the most vibrant, most alive place in the world. And maybe that’s the contradiction that stays with me the most.

You only get this one life, I always feel like we gotta try, if possible — and I say if possible because I’m always aware that people are encountering massive, massive challenges, and are overcoming traumas and circumstances beyond their control, and the world is insane, there’s so many things and pressure, but, again, we only have this one life, and I think about that a lot. I just think, if there’s a way to just be kinder to yourself, and even if it’s about just being here today, putting in this work, and if you’ve done this a couple of years, great, and you’re gonna do it again or not, or you’re gonna try something else. Or even if you don’t feel 100%, be kinder to yourself. If the thing isn’t turning out to be what you’ve thought, be kinder to yourself.
