Armagh had Donegal squeezed to halfway, under pressure with 90 secs left. Stephen McMenamin technically broke the 3v3. That late run and a momentary breach has become a tactic. Difficult to police but even more difficult to defend against. Surprised it’s taken this long to happen

Donegal didn't breach the 3 up rule as the player that swapped with him was within 5m of halfway and wasn't impacting play. So surely it can't be described as breach if it is within the rules? McMenamin had some faith in his teammates that he would be replaced

¡UY! ESO DEBIÓ DOLER 😬 Nassourdine Imavov le propina su tercera derrota a Israel Adesanya. 😲¿Acaso no lo tomó en serio? 🤔 ESTADIO Deportes te cuenta qué pasó. #NassourdineImavov #IsraelAdesanya #UFC

There's a player making his way back to Donegal's half (2nd Donegal man from top) and he's within the 5m allowance if not impacting the play so that makes McMenamin legal or am I misunderstanding the rule?

Attacking team should be forced to retreat a player before another one can break the half way line. The Donegal player who wasn’t “impacting” play was being marked by an Armagh player so he’s fully impacting the play. It’s not an accidental breach here

Once you cross the halfway line you cannot bring the ball back (or kick back) into your half - imagine the tackling contests jeopardy that would bring - that would be my last tweak to the game

Think Donegal are fine here

Depends how you read A and E. He's crossed the line knowing he's breaching it and assuming someone will get back quickly enough to cover it. Is that intentional and is it gaining an advantage? I'd say it's both, but it's also so difficult to police that I expect it to be let go

Well within the rules

If you restricted players to stay behind the 65m line these types of breaches would be more obvious to spot for the officials

Shot clock would fix a lot of the back and forth. We already essentially have two at the end of the games with the hooter, imagine having those end of game plays every minute or so in a game. None of that hesitating and guessing did they break the 3 back rule or not.

This wasn't wide either..
