You would think so, but I’d argue transitional work is invisible to most people. Majority of people treat MMA as a bunch of separate martial arts rather than its own sport entirely. You’ll see people do this stuff, but often intuitively rather than specifically drilling for it

Ruffy's way to defend takedowns was very trivial and he got too invested into defending takedowns so much so that he almost treated it like wrestling, his hands were down for underhooks.

Once I seen him throw 2 elbows that landed flush with out ruffy noticing and him being gassed by the end I knew it was game over but it seems he really took dj’s words to heart
