It's a bit of a self own if you automatically assume Vance meant the UK when he said "some random country". I think it says more about what you think of the UK than it does Vance.

HODGES: I'm having a hard time believing that Trump changed his mind about Russia and Ukraine. When he says Putin really wants peace, I doubt it, unless it's on Putin's terms. If Russia really wants peace, all Putin has to do is say, "Everybody, back on our side of the border." Trump administration's approach to negotiations has been doomed from the beginning because they always took Russian argument as having validity. That Ukraine should just give up 20% of its territory to appease Russia, when in fact, anybody who understands Russia knows that's not going to actually appease Russia.

Czechia will extend the Czech-led ammunition initiative, Czech Foreign Minister Petr Macinka said during his visit to Kyiv. The Minister was in Lviv region en route to Kyiv when Russia launched the Oreshnik strike. Petr Macinka stated it is time for Russia to make concessions, as Ukraine was willing to make "significant concessions" in the peace negotiations, and it has "a strong interest in peace."
