According to police, the homeowner shot and injured one man while the other home invader bizarrely shot himself in the head. Police believe that the homeowner knew the men who showed up at his home in the middle of the night. The dead invader was found with a “self-inflicted gunshot wound to his head” according to police. Troops neutralise three suspected armed robbers in Kaduna By Zagazola Makama Troops of Operation Lafiyan Jama’a have neutralised three suspected armed robbers during an operation to recover weapons in Kaduna State. Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama on Wednesday that the incident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. on Monday during a follow-up operation based on the confession of arrested suspects. According to the sources, the three suspects had earlier been arrested in connection with a series of armed robbery attacks and were assisting troops in investigations. During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to possessing arms and ammunition hidden in a forested location and offered to lead troops to the hideout. However, while en route to the location, the suspects allegedly attempted to escape by attacking a soldier and trying to snatch his weapon. Troops responded immediately, neutralising all three suspects in the process. “The quick response of the troops averted a potential escape and ensured the safety of the escorting team,” the source added. Security footage shows two men stepping out of a vehicle, pouring accelerant onto the front of a house and quickly getting back into the car on June 16. But as the driver pulled away, flames suddenly erupted from the passenger-side window, quickly engulfing the entire vehicle. All three men jumped out and fled the scene, abandoning the burning car in the middle of the street. Authorities said the occupants of the home were not injured and exterior of the house was charred by flames. Police say they're still looking for the three suspects.
