A defensive alliance with France. A strategic relationship with the UAE. If all this means, "you don't have a foreign policy," then what would having a foreign policy mean—that we should have taken Istanbul and Hagia Sophia? So, it is obviously nonsense.

JD Vance just said “we cannot let our Middle Eastern foreign policy be subservient to the state of Israel.” Our U.S. foreign policy has never been subservient to Israel’s foreign policy. He knows that. Why would he need to say that unless he’s trying to politically gain some points with Israel haters? We are the superpower of the world. A presidential candidate of the USA should have the experience and the confidence to stand with one of our greatest allies in the world without hesitation. Unafraid. Are we supposed to be friends with your friends only? We are an independent, sovereign state. Your own president was in China with a bunch of businessmen not so long ago. South Africa and Iran are BRICS partners. We don't owe you any explanation. Our foreign policy is not dictated by your preferences it is shaped by our national interests, just as yours is. If you can engage with whoever you choose, so can we. Respect is a two-way street; you don't get to police our relationships while pursuing your own. We are equals, not subordinates.
