Even with the cameras, these ego driven, tyrannical, badge wearing, escalating monsters will play out their theatre at the cost of the very citizens they claim to protect. They look for ignorance to fish in a barrel. Police aren’t what you all believe them to be. Policy is lord over rights, and egos are bullets that have destroyed trust and community.

Calling them monsters doesn’t fix it tbh some cops are awful, but most follow bad training and incentives. The system itself is the problem IMO

Curfew Yes, but only in limited circumstances — and “suspicion of curfew” by itself is usually not enough for a full arrest. Adults In most U.S. cities there is no general nighttime curfew for people 18 and older. Walking, standing, or “hanging out” after dark is not a crime. Police cannot arrest you just because they think you might be violating a curfew that does not apply to you. The main exceptions are: A formally declared emergency curfew (riots, hurricanes, civil unrest). A court-ordered curfew (probation, pretrial release, or parole condition). In those cases an officer who reasonably believes you are violating the order can stop, cite, or arrest you. Minors Many cities have juvenile curfew ordinances (typically 11 p.m.–5 a.m. or similar, applying to people under 17 or 18). An officer who has reasonable suspicion that someone looks underage and is out during restricted hours can stop that person, ask their age, and check for a valid exception (work, with a parent, emergency, etc.). What happens next is usually not a criminal arrest: Verbal warning and sent home. Driven home or held until a parent arrives. Citation or status-offense referral to juvenile court. Some local ordinances do authorize arrest if the officer determines no exception applies, but even then it is commonly treated as a status offense rather than a traditional crime. Key legal line A stop can be based on reasonable suspicion. An actual arrest generally requires probable cause that a curfew violation (or some other offense) has occurred. Simply looking young and being outside at night does not automatically meet that standard, and courts have struck down overly broad curfews that restrict a minor’s right to travel or First Amendment activity. If the person in the video you saw was 18 or older, a curfew arrest would normally be improper unless an emergency order or court condition was in effect. Local ordinances vary, so the exact rule depends on the city.

Looks like arrested for curfew. Could it be any clearer? Why gaslight? They say it right in the video and nobody argued it wasnt past curfew. Plus with selective editing, you wouldnt have put that in if there was much more supporting evidence.

Yeah the officers mention curfew right in the clip, so calling it just walking skips the actual reason they stopped them....

Cops not knowing the law should absolutely cost them their badges, money, and their lives if it extends to assault and battery by them

What the fuck is a curfew? I mean, I know what curfews are, but I didn't know that USA had them in place. The last time we had a curfew in my SO CALLED THIRD WORLD COUNTRY was 1980's and there was a military coup.

'Suspicion' isn't a crime nor can someone be arrested/detained for it. This is an easy $1 million lawsuit for these guys

Being friendly, polite, and not defensive makes things easier. Don't give the officer anything to emotionally latch on to and react. "What's up officer?" "I'm going to respectfully decline to answer any questions." Got pulled over for speeding once. Had my license, registration, and insurance ready for the officer as soon as he asked for it, which caught him off guard. Cop: "Do you know how fast you were going?" Me: "What part of the road? Where did you first see me?" Cop: "I got up all the way to 55 before I caught up with you." Me: "Oh. Okay." There was about 15 seconds of silence between us before he headed back to his car to run my info. He came back and handed me my info, "You have a nice day sir." No ticket.
