What do you think about this dog I painted for you?

I love dogs and this one makes me happy.

@JumpJ4ke lmao

@HunterBiden New Lore dropped lmao

My art is now my job and it has helped tremendously 🐸🥲

Love it

Thank you!! 🥰 I’m living my dream life 🐸

I had never picked up a paint brush in my life. My twin sister passed away, and my grief was eating me alive. Painting saved me. I now make a living doing it. Thank you for your voice. I love your work. Here's an eagle I painted.

Wow! So talented. Amazing.

Thank you!

I started drawing at age 60 as a form of therapy. I drew this in class a few weeks ago. It’s a mishmash of a tiny lanyard with a lobster claw, safety pins and a feather.

Is that pencil. That’s spectacular.

Yes, pencil. Thank you!

Create every day

Wow. So cool. Amazing.

it's in all of us

For me: knitting.

I want one. Amazing.

Would love to make one for you, but you'll wait a lot less if you just order one from 😄

@JaxHarley5 That's why I started making jewelry. Was stuck in bed with cancer.

@JaxHarley5 And look how amazing!

@JaxHarley5 Oh thank you so much! I also am a painter. I will give one little peek. Your work is head over heels beautiful. It sheds the captured inside out of us in such a peaceful cleanse doesn't it?

@HunterBiden @JaxHarley5 Thank you so much!! I am so happy you got that reaction from my art! All artists love to hear how their paintings make the viewer feel! That's such a compliment to me! U r so sweet.

When people hear "Recovery", many automatically assume drugs or alcohol addiction. Recovery also includes depression, loss of a loved one, regret, trauma, the constant struggles of life that continue to knock you down no matter how many times you keep getting up, etc..

So true!

Great advice. I won a photo contest with this picture. I love your "Dragonfly II" My recovery symbol since 11/2015. We have a Japanese teapot, a metal print, and Zen room full of them. The dot-work builds a new universe one point at a time just like recovery does. 力 = strength.

I see why you won. Amazing

First contest I entered too. 1-for-1. I'm spoiled now.

I’m also in recovery, and ditto on art. Mandala coloring books have become a form of meditation for me. They help quiet my mind and keep me present. Sharing two recent pieces below.

They’re so cool.

You're a gem, Hunter. When I was first diagnosed with MS, I went right into the grieving process. One day, I just picked up my phone, went for a *slow* walk in the neighborhood, and started taking photos. I never stopped. Seeing the beauty in everything saved me

I love that. Beautiful things.

Hi there Hunter, I got sober in Wilmington, DE, and you were also in my death penalty class with Steve Bright @ Yale. Because we were off campus for the strike, you often gave us rides home. I continued the DP work since then. Thanks for your emergence.

No way. So cool. And so proud of the work you’re doing. Maybe I’ll see you around in Wilmington when I’m home. Thanks for reaching out.

@jai_mountain Protect the horses!

@HunterBiden Yes, I’ve been an advocate against this practice as well as thoroughbred racing (which was harder to give up than alcohol!) for a while.

@HunterBiden I would love to do a show with you. Art saved me, too. Not necessarily from recovery, but for truth in myself.

Love these

I’m not in recovery from substances but from trauma. Specifically psychological and sexual abuse. As I started my recovery a friend got me into glass blowing. It feels great to create and have that outlet. Keep up the hard work brother. Sample of what I made in picture

That looks so cool. I would love to learn how to do that.

The Gavin portrait was the moment your artistic vision fully matured.

If you ever want to make paper with me, I'm on an Island in Puget Sound. Come on over. I have coffee. We can transform an old pair of jeans into pulp then paper.

So cool.

Thankful for Gods grace and mercy. For those who are new to recovery, keep at it and keep coming back. I will be praying for you.

Beautiful

This is so cool

@TroyHeath50 Your words have the power to uplift countless others who are facing their own battles. I genuinely believe that your art was the beacon that guided you out of your darkest days. ✊

@TroyHeath50 I do too. Thanks Crystal.

@TroyHeath50 You’re very welcome, You’ve got a huge support network rallying behind you here. 💪☺️

My view from 3 months sober ❤️

Remember when Hunter Biden created artistic adult diapers?

Best of luck on your journey. There's nothing like a good come back story.

Appreciate that Justin.

@HunterBiden Christ turns even the most wicked hearts. Your bio is contradictory; how can you be a lover of God and also hate others, especially fellow countrymen? Why tear down any man? We are renewed in the Lord and made whole again.

I find great comfort in my guitar. No matter how I feel when I pick it up I feel better when I put it down.

Starting a small garden has been my happy place lately

I think a lot of addiction goes back to unresolved trauma, and trauma is stored in the body. In therapy the way you deal with body stored trauma is movement. A part of addiction is also ritual and physical movement, so the act of having your hands busy or movement is so important

In a deep depression I started just making spirals of wire. Then I added a long stem. For 2 years I've been putting up wireflowers all across Chicago. 270 so far. It got me doing things, out in the fresh air. Doing the photos and posting them, encouraging others to do them too.

Rainbow Fish Hunter Biden 🤝 Finding hope and healing in art in our recovery

A family member is a recovering addict and it breaks my heart to see how his own feelings of shame have made him a prisoner in his own mind. He’s very intelligent and creative. Like you…he’s an artist, but he no longer creates art. He needs to be free from his self-imposed cage!

Keep telling him that.

the best combo

Addiction is one of many escapes from existential angst & anxiety, which is primal and emotional, and why understanding we are creative beings, and that the creative process is one of the few healthy ways to live with it.

Exactly

What about a good morning today Hunter, good morning @HunterBiden

Good morning

@quirkystraus While I'm not in recovery, it does help with mental health. I haven't made much art lately. I'm the sole caregiver for my mom. This is a favorite of mine of yours and my favorite of mine. I use watercolor

I took up painting ten years ago and my profile picture was my first project.....I chose it because it's a constant reminder of what of what I has achieved.....everyday is one day at a time. 💜

So amazing.

could you explain how you felt while making this $xavier one?

Here's mine 🩷🐇💐
