Just imagine the formula to calculate that accuracy

Almost there! Rendezvous 18.6y is a song by LOONA sub-unit yyxy, composed of Yves, Chuu, Go Won and Hyeju, while ARTMS is composed of LOONA members Jinsoul, Haseul, Kim Lip, Heejin and Choerry. Hope that helps 🥰

They are closer to the Moon than Earth…

The physics behind it is so simple and so amazingly complex.

Mind-blowing precision. This isn't just a pretty animation it's the real-time trajectory of Orion on the Artemis II mission, looping around the far side of the Moon on a fuel-efficient free-return path before gravity slings it back to Earth. A ~10-day round trip with an incredibly tight re-entry window (around 17 minutes of error margin). The math, orbital mechanics, and engineering behind hitting that perfect flyby and safe return are insane. Huge respect to the teams making humanity's return to deep space look (almost) effortless. 🚀🌕 (Source: tracker + NASA Artemis II visuals)

There is NO WAY they flew to the moon and back in 20 seconds. Further, how did they take this video????

It's incredible that we can do this.

In sci-fi, a space ship is a bit like a car. You take it out for a spin, go and look at an interesting asteroid, orbit a planet a few times, maybe rescue someone, then back for a blue drink. The reality is much less practical.

Now remember folks, someone had to calculate how much poop is going to be stored on Artemis II during that trip. Did you pass that much maths in your dumb f*** school?

Nah what if the moons gravity isn’t as strong as earths and just flings em farther away 🫣😳

We all can do that on a computer. Where is the camera filming a live stream on the spacecraft? So we ALL can see the earth and the moon.

Why not a tangential trajectory that would allow more time of Artemis in close proximity of the moon? @grok: what do you know about this mission objectives and the decision making process that led to them?

Profilbild von Marc Compere

what is the sensitivity of this trajectory to errors in velocity, location or timing? it seems like a pretty carefully planned event that’s difficult to make happen so it works just right

Seems they’ll have very little time over the top of the moon- especially given they’re traveling in the opposite direction of the moon.
