That was the last leap, right? Like, trivial to '3d print' a replica bone with appropriate joints. Tendons are just string. It was the ability to contract in such a compact efficient manner that I always saw as a hurdle. by last leap, I mean for making some real legit humanoid robots or whatever....give me LT Commander Data already.

The problem with these is what you don't see on the video. Probably a gigantic pump + battery on the other side, making the entire thing completely unpractical.

I suspect what they don't show you, is the ton of machine and wires it's connected to. Fake muscles are easy. We know anatomy. Making them small, self contained, and energy efficient. Not so easy. Nice design though.
