Andy Burnham has just signalled a major push to make more welfare benefits conditional. In his interview with Laura Kuenssberg, the Prime Minister was asked directly: “Specifically, as your plans stand, do they include removing benefits from anyone or reducing benefits for anyone?” Burnham replied: “It’s about changing the nature of the support and making some of the support conditional upon people taking opportunities that are presented in front of them.” He’s talking about reforming the system so that support is tied to engaging with available jobs, training or other opportunities, not simply handed out with no strings attached. The welfare bill is costing an absolute fortune and is completely unsustainable. Starmer tried to reform it and it blew up in his face. Burnham is now having a go, let’s hope he actually delivers meaningful change this time. Last night I had the absolute pleasure of attending the Edinburgh Tattoo for the first time. 👌 Why I have never been before is beyond me. 🤷‍♀️ It was one of THE best experiences I’ve ever had. 🙌Overwhelmingly good. Made me so proud to have worn a uniform. If you have never been, u simply have to put it on the bucket list! I also had no idea until the end that the show does not make a profit, it’s all for forces charities! An extra special thanks to Alan the show director and Laura for hosting my family so warmly. I played my dad the videos in his hospital bed this morning and he cried upon hearing the ‘Skye boat song’. It holds some special memories for him and my mum. And to ALL the team involved in the tattoo this year, you made my family’s dream come true. Have an AMAZING month! 🫡🙏🫶

When we catch up to discuss the album via video call, it’s our third time meeting. The previous session was at this very photoshoot in London. Unique footage has emerged showing remote control of interceptor drones. The 190th Training Center of the SBS reportedly used a drone-interceptor to shoot down a Shahed UAV remotely, with the pilot located at a significant distance from the launch site. The system used was LITAVR, developed by FDrones. According to the company, an operator can control the interceptor from hundreds of kilometers away from the launch point. The F7 LITAVR is already a well-known and highly effective system. As a reminder, here are the technical details (this is all open-source information): Development of the system began in autumn 2024. It was successfully tested and officially adopted in summer 2025. Serial production and deliveries to the military started in autumn 2025. Maximum speed: 350 km/h Flight time: up to 15 minutes Equipped with two cameras: daytime and thermal imaging The officially stated tactical range is 36 km, though in practice it can reach up to 60 km and operate at altitudes of up to 9.5 km. The warhead (separately codified) weighs 500 g. Detonation can occur via kinetic impact, self-destruction upon contact with the target, or manual activation by the operator. The system uses inertial guidance without GPS and features automatic terminal guidance (“last mile” / target lock system). At present, it reportedly destroys hundreds of targets per week, including Shaheds, Gerberas, Molniyas, Orlans, Lancets, and others. What is fundamentally new? Until now, mobile air defense fire groups and frontline crews using interceptor drones required a qualified pilot on-site. It has now been successfully demonstrated that a different tactic is possible: pilots can operate from protected, remote locations.
