As a geographer I strictly donot support lift irrigation projects, but As a electrical engineer, surprised 😲seeing all the massive projects in Telangana, they are largest in human history. That too in India where 100cr irrigation project take 10+yrs with clearance, case.etc. 1/2

I am posting this after the election (donot want to be political). TS spent more in water resources in last 10yrs than TN did in 70yrs. TN doesn't have river or place to build large dams, but we need to atleast spend on maintaining what we have and improving our ground water 2/2

I personally feel Medigadda project issue is due to design and maintenance problem. These Godavari barrages projects were given to L&T, which is a professionally run company. I am only talking abt main barrage. I may be wrong

TN doesn't have Godavari and Krishna so mega projects are out of the question. What's worrying is the government is still promoting rice in the delta and not taking steps to de-silt the existing dams and lakes. Rivers converted as drainage pathways are the next big worry 😞

Even after all this people may vote out this awesome government. The majority of the people don’t care or understand the power of infrastructure in India . All they want is free stuff and reservations.

Necessity is mother of all inventions, and for telangana water is one such important necessity. We implemented that & we benefiting from it. Medigadda is small glitch, which is being worked out by L&T without a penny spending by Govt.

Jus imagine kaaleshwaram irrigation project budget is whooping 1 lakh crore.

Kaleshwaram consume more electricity than entire state of Kerala.

Telangana doesn't have any other option except Lift Irrigation. I dont know about the exact advantages and disadvantages of this project, but I can clearly say only people with huge love and commitment can build such a wonder.

i think it should have been other way around…telangana should have learned from TN and have spent money on small medium irrigation to get the most viable projects completed fast instead of white elephants like kaleshwarram/meddigadda

#irrigation water flows throgh gravity, does not cost much energy input, except basic building dams, diggging irrigation cnals. #LiftIrrigation needs #externalEnergy, &made posible due to one time gifts of #fossilFuels. so Lift Irrigation projects are lenier=terminal not #circular
