The heaviest coffin. As I see their picture, read their stories, listen to their families and watch their funerals, I can’t wrap my head around what happened 11 weeks ago. What gives the right to a government to just open fire on so many people , so many teenagers and people with their whole lives ahead of them. As I drove towards the auditorium in the South Western Command of the Indian Army, I saw posters of army officers and jawans at regular intervals, that won various bravery awards. Some laid down their lives for our country while others came back with scars from the battlefield. These men were husbands, sons, brothers & fathers. They are part of our armed forces and they gave up their today for our tomorrow ! We will never know them. Most of us will never hear of them, think of them or miss them. We might mention their sacrifice in a conversation & admire their bravery for a moment before we get on with our lives. This sad reality hit hard as I struggled to bring a smile on my face when I reached the event for Army Women’s Welfare Association ( AWWA) At the event I met the women that would miss these men everyday & every moment of their lives. I met their kids and I saw their smiles. There were no complaints & no tears ! Just pride, strength & sacrifice. There was so much bravery in that auditorium it humbled me beyond words. It was truly my honour to share the stage with these Veer Naris & their families🙏 I went with a small contribution to say thank you for your service & for your sacrifice. I wanted them to know they are not forgotten & we are indebted to them forever. I left with a smile on my face & with so much gratitude in my heart. I know our country is in safe hands as long as Hero’s like these guard our borders. 25 years of Anant Sewa 🙏 On this day in 2001, with the blessings of Maa Kamakhya I was elected for the first time as an MLA from the Jalukbari Constituency. Thanks to the continuous blessings of the people of Jalukbari, I am now entering my 25th year as an elected representative. Being able to serve them, has been my greatest honour. From that day till today - as I begin my second term as Assam's Mukhya Sewak - every step is etched with the sweat, struggles and triumphs of our people. As I prepare for my installation at Canterbury Cathedral, it feels deeply humbling to be following in the footsteps of those who have walked this ancient route. I’m looking forward to visiting local churches, cathedrals, and holy sites along the route, and to meeting people, praying with them and hearing their stories. As I walk this path I will be praying for our Church and our world and asking God to bless those we meet. Every Christian life is a pilgrimage, a journey with God. As I begin this new chapter in my own life and ministry, I am grateful to be walking with God and with others.

Walked through the lush, misty Temi Tea Gardens in Namchi, Sikkim today. Spent time and interacted with the incredible hardworking tea pluckers and garden workers in the Tea gardens today. Tried my hand at tea plucking too and very quickly realised the grace, speed and effort it truly demands! My sincere respect for the skill and dedication of the pluckers who put their heart and soul into it.
