As Christmas approaches, remember this: joy has always been God’s gift to the world. The angels announced it first: “Joy to the world, the Lord has come!” No matter what storms try to shake you, God’s presence brings a joy that breaks through every circumstance. Paul reminds us, “Rejoice...

Joy isn’t just a feeling—it’s a choice rooted in Christ. Jesus said, “Your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you” (John 16:22 NKJV). Even in the darkest valleys, His presence brings hope and strength. Choosing joy means rejecting self-pity and trusting God fully. Jesus promised, “That My joy may remain in you… that your joy may be full” (John 15:11 NKJV). Joy isn’t stolen—it’s surrendered. Today, choose His joy.

AGAIN I SAY REJOICE When it has to do with the business of Joy, we not only rejoice because we have seen the manifestation of God’s Word, but we also rejoice in hope knowing that He will not fail us. Show me a Believer who has mastered the art of preserving their joy, and I will show you someone the enemy cannot do any harm. Your greatest safety as a Believer is to never tie your joy to what works well or never works well. In 1987, during the Frankfurt Germany Temple open house, I had the opportunity to speak with a national German television network about my faith and why temples are so precious to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I still remember the joy of bearing witness that the temple is the house of the Lord—a place of peace, covenants, and eternal hope. Next year, exactly 40 years after that interview, we will celebrate the renovated Salt Lake Temple. Through the years, my love for the Lord’s holy house has only deepened. Temples remind us that God’s plan is filled with light, purpose, and promise. We look forward with great joy to welcoming friends from around the world to come and see this beautiful and sacred house of the Lord.

There is a deep, holy joy in seeing those we love come to Christ. May that same joy spread among young people across the world. Lord, move afresh by Your Spirit among the nations— may Christ be glorified, the lost saved, and lives transformed.

In a world where access to power often hinges on influence, status, or who you know, the Word of God reminds us of a privilege far greater—direct access to the Creator of heaven and earth. Through Jesus Christ, we have been granted the ability to enter the throne room of Almighty God at any time. There’s no waiting line, no appointment necessary. Jeremiah 33:3 promises, “Call upon Me, and I will show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.” When we pray in Jesus' name, we don’t just hope to be heard—we are heard by the One who holds all power. You are not just a number in the crowd. You are a child of God, royalty in the courts of heaven. Philippians 4:4 says, “Rejoice in the Lord always.” No matter the trial, rejoice because your access remains. James 1:2 encourages us to “count it all joy” even in testing. You have authority because you carry the name above every name. Use it. Trust it. And rejoice in the power and presence that is only a prayer away.

This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it! The beauty of God’s creation in motion. What a privilege we have in the opportunity to experience what He created each day, with the life He blesses us with! Happy Monday! #GoHPU

The Bible says in Hebrews 12:2 that Jesus is “the author and the finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross.” Where was the joy in the cross? The joy of Jesus was the fact that His suffering and death were setting you and me free from the power of sin and Satan. With joy, He took your sickness and suffering. He took your sins and shame and left them at the cross, never to be remembered against you anymore. If God has forgiven you, you can forgive you. Square your shoulders and embrace the redemption of the cross. You are free from sin and shame. Paul rejoiced in trouble. Stephen rejoiced while being stoned. The three Hebrew children rejoiced in the fiery furnace. Joseph rejoiced despite being sold into slavery, and the father rejoiced when the prodigal son returned home. You too can rejoice, regardless of your circumstances, for the joy that is set before you. James writes, “Count it all joy.” You may not be able to control what happens around you, but you can determine to rejoice and be glad. There is healing power in joy. Keep your eyes on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your faith, and rejoice in what He has already accomplished for you.

God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in him. This is Desiring God yesterday, today, and always. Too many souls suffer with paper-thin joy under a god too small to worship (if they know any god at all). With God’s help, we will keep spreading our free, Bible-saturated joy to millions more around the world. Will you help us spread great joy in a big God?

Alan Rickman would’ve turned 80 today. With his mellifluous voice and killer delivery, he was always a joy to watch and a master scene-stealer. I’m gonna spend the day pretending he’s still with us, and the world is brighter for it.

Inspiring answer from the OU softball team about happiness versus joy. So cool to see athletes use their platform to profess their faith. The Lord is at work. “No matter the outcome, this isn’t our home. We have an eternity of joy.” Grace Lyons, Jayda Coleman and Alyssa Brito.

There isn’t a single verse in the Bible that says God’s promises to Israel depend on their perfection. God’s covenant was never about their flawless obedience, it’s about His unchanging faithfulness. Many today struggle with this truth and turn to replacement theology, distorting Scripture and undermining God’s prophetic plan. But the Bible is clear: God’s promises stand, not because Israel is perfect, but because He is. Watch this entire teaching:

POILIEVRE: "Only the Liberals would look at the $17,600 that the average family has to spend on groceries and say that it's a time to rejoice." Exactly. Excuse us as we don't jump for joy at the Liberal $30 grocery rebate. 🫠
