An unidentified man allegedly threw ink at AISA National President Neha Bora during the ongoing Assembly march in Ranchi on Friday, briefly disrupting the protest before he was overpowered by police personnel and taken into custody. The march, called by the All India Students' Association (AISA), is being held in support of the ongoing agitation by JPSC and JSSC aspirants, who have been protesting over alleged irregularities in Jharkhand government recruitment examinations. Hundreds of students have joined the procession, which is moving towards the Jharkhand Assembly amid slogans demanding transparent recruitment, accountability, and action over alleged examination lapses. The ink-throwing incident occurred as Bora was leading the march with student protesters. Police officers stationed along the route immediately intervened and detained the unidentified man. His identity and motive were not immediately known. The protest comes after days of demonstrations, sit-ins and hunger strikes by aspirants, who have been demanding reforms to the state's recruitment process and action over alleged irregularities in JPSC and JSSC examinations. It is not even clear in the order as well whether the admit card will be handover to them manually or online. The time is less than 48 hours for the exams to be conducted. It is handfolded and highly requested to the authorities to open the window for all the aspirants and to defer the exam in favour of overage aspirants

For the last seven years, we have conducted so far successfully... Because of the recent events, what has happened that there were lots of concerns about all these sorts of examinations from the student communities and in response to that, the government has decided to ensure once more to make sure that the sanctity of the examination the safety and security must be maintained. So they have decided to review the SOPs and protocols as soon as possible. We will declare the next due date in one next week..." On advisory issued against social media messages, and fraudsters, warnings he said, "This was for the protection that's why we published the SOPs before the examination, this is all perception, social media is so vast these days that sometimes it gives the wrong message to the students and we wanted students should remain on the right path."

Contrary to several claims circulating on social media suggesting that the #CockroachJanataParty (CJP) protest has ended or that the protest site has been completely dismantled, the protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar is very much ongoing. After the clashes during the proposed march to Parliament, protesters remained on the roads outside Jantar Mantar until around 3.30 a.m. before returning to the protest site. According to organisers, they rebuilt the stage after it was demolished during the police action and resumed the sit-in. Hundreds of protesters continue to remain at Jantar Mantar, while more supporters have been arriving at the venue through the day. Volunteers have also resumed organising the protest site as the demonstration continues. The developments come a day after the attempted Parliament march, which saw clashes between protesters and Delhi Police. While the confrontation drew widespread attention, the protest itself has not ended, with organisers maintaining that the agitation will continue. Eshwar reports from the ground. #DelhiProtest
