As Gen X it was definitely surreal watching all this happen

I feel like GenX was the last generation to get a genuine shot at success, with “only” the Great Financial Crisis thrown at us as a speed bump

Everyone I know pretty much got wiped out and most are just as screwed

Watching practically everyone I've ever known believe whole heartedly that all these things were organic actually broke my spirit.

Gen X (unless they have jobs and pensions funded by the taxpayers or were able to cash out years ago in the brief tech boom) are struggling to stay afloat at a time when we should be relatively comfortable and thinking about retiring in 10 years. Instead, a lot of us are piecing together part time and contract work after losing our livelihoods because of lockdowns and mandates. If our health hasn’t already been destroyed by toxic food and medicine and stress, we will be lucky to not drop dead at work.

Alpha, Z, M’s …remember GenX were the Boomers first victims. We don’t like them either. They literally put keys around our necks ….to chase “Greed is good”

GenX here, we never had a chance! Everything changed and a lot of us did exactly what the boomers did with completely different results. They experimented on us, changed the rules of the game & then blamed us for it! They forgot about us & then wonder why we don't care 🤡🌎

As a young gen x...I lost a ton in my 401k. I lost $30k on my first starter home. I can remember clearly employer provided health ins costing $100-150 a month back in 2005 for an individual. I moved 1000 miles to find a job. And I remember everyone thinking Iraq had wmd's.

Gen-X simply got screwed less than Gen-Z. But we got screwed too. We all got screwed.

Gen X had all this plus the challenger explosion and don't forget the Oklahoma City bombing

What scarred me for life. Watching the space shuttle blow up in grade school. Teachers gathered us all in the lunchroom to watch it.

Ive been tellin a few friends n fam who say im just being a pessimist. A career means nothing if your gov/central banks devalue the $ + pump n dump the econ. Youll just get wiped out learning a new corp skill for nothing.

Gen X appears to be the last generation taught to not trust government or look to it for help.

My newborn son will be turning 40 by time Boomers are finally too old to continue fucking anything else up. Forgot to mention razing borders, offshoring manufacturing, outsourcing jobs, and flooding with H-1Bs and other hostile foreigners. But yeah, this pretty much sums it up.

Boomers got the same crap, wars, drugs, abuse, and financial wreckage. Same for the "greatest" gen. Your parents, grand parents, and great grand parents all had to deal with the same pattern of manipulation and deceit. The people $haking the ant jar were the only constant.

It’s amazing how easy it is to destroy a nation. All you have to do is convince the population they’re “free”…to do whatever they desire. I went from having the best 10 years of my life…to the next 23 years of seeing the America i grew up in and loved so much…slip from right under all of us. Its so fucking sad, we used to have such a beautiful, strong, compassionate, thriving, healthy country.
