Democrats need to watch what has happened to the Labour party in the UK. They won an election purely because they were not the Conservatives, within weeks their administration was hated and remains so. Being less shit than the alternative gives you no power to make real change.

I've have a lot of issues with his triangulations over the years, but I've maintained that if he honed his public speaking skills he could pull it off. Basically just a dark-skinned white guy, which appeases the wokies without really threatening whitey. Has an interesting backstory. Relatively young. Also not a woman. And genuinely courageous as far as politicians go. Seems like a pretty safe pick vs whatever unappealing wackjob the post-Trump GOP can scrounge up in the wake of the incoming global economic disaster.
