When it comes to education, it begins with curiosity and the freedom to think openly and ask questions without any fear or constraints—political or social. Education must not become a privilege for a few because it is the very foundation of freedom. India needs an education system that fosters a scientific temper, encourages critical thinking, and reflects the rich diversity of our nation. LoP Shri Rahul Gandhi visited the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and the University of Chile and had an engaging conversation with the students. From North South University, Dhaka 🇧🇩 At North South University, I addressed brilliant students and distinguished faculty on a defining question of our era: how Pakistan and Bangladesh — two of the youngest nations in the world — can transform demographic energy into enduring economic strength. With over 60% of our populations under 35, our shared realities are clear: Rapid urbanisation. Expanding higher education. Export-led ambition. Labour market transitions. Climate vulnerability. Engaging with the bright young minds of NSU, we reflected on how the Fourth Industrial Revolution — AI, automation, digital trade, and climate technologies — is reshaping economies and redefining opportunity. The future of our region will not be determined by past ruptures, but by the innovation, skills, and ambition of our youth. History reminds us that nations rise when knowledge and unity converge — and decline when fragmentation prevails. My message to the students was clear: New worlds are created by new ideas. Collaboration is strategic — not sentimental. And the destiny of nations lies in the hands of individuals. Grateful for the gracious welcome by the Chairman, Vice Chancellor, distinguished faculty, and the enthusiastic students whose energy reflects the promise of our region.
