“As long as the problems of the poor are not radically resolved by rejecting the absolute autonomy of markets and financial speculation and by attacking the structural causes of inequality, no solution will be found for the world’s problems — or, for that matter, to any problems. “Inequality is... show more

Chris, I often sit and wonder what would the world be like if the Pope had been someone with more nationalistic readings of Catholicism. Or even someone expressly aligned with the mindset of people like Pete Hegseth and MAGA. I thank God that at this precise moment we have a Pope who understands that God is aligned with the poor and oppressed!

omg sounding like francis but in clear english I LOVE

I’m a practicing Catholic. Our past popes have consistently condemned socialism and communism. Leo should stay out of economic policy.

I’m not catholic or religious at all and I like this pope 👍

Heaven belongs to the poor, Our Lord told us how to give, Don't worry, Our Lord knows us.

Yeah, we get it! Catholic hierarchy has been taken over by Globalist Communists.

could you please tell us the date and occasion - thank you!

Watch out! He's sounding antisemitic! He's obviously too afraid and cowardly to say he's talking about the Jews.

Catholic teaching does not envision justice as erasing every distinction among peoples and nations. CCC 56–57 teaches that after human unity was shattered by sin, God dealt with humanity through distinct “lands,” languages, families, and nations, and that this division even served to restrain fallen humanity’s attempt to manufacture its own unity at Babel. The Gospel ultimately gathers every nation into Christ, but it does not pretend the consequences of the Fall have disappeared. Universal human dignity does not require a borderless or economically identical world.

Well, the answer surely isn't bigger government, or communism.

Catholic socialism is still socialism

I think we already know that. The question is. WTF are we going to DO about it?

Jesus I trust in thee amen 🙏.

Right. That's why we're Catholic.

Am I mistaken or is this straight Marxism? ABF

Dieser ideologische Blödsinn entspricht nicht der Offenbarung und der traditionellen katholischen Soziallehre. Das Wort Ungleichheit kommt in der Bibel nicht vor. Vielmehr können wir dort von Rechtsgleichheit lesen.

That's good from you @ChristopherHale . Keep mentioning Pope's words without adding your comments.
