As we start the long weekend, I am interested in finding a path forward at the bargaining table and I hope we can reach an agreement that is fair to BCGEU workers and fair to all British Columbians.

📣 After nine months of bargaining and eight weeks of strike action, BCGEU public service members have reached a tentative agreement with the provincial government that makes meaningful progress on wages, affordability, and respect for frontline workers. This agreement was won through solidarity — from members who stood strong on hundreds of picket lines to allies across the labour movement who stood beside them. This labor force is going to expand a lot as more of our parents reach older age, and these folks need to be paid a fair wage. These are some of the most exploited workers in the country. Oftentimes, their shifts are extremely long, and they have to work in very tough conditions. We need home healthcare workers to be paid a fair wage so that people can age with dignity and receive care at home with dignity

🆘️We had enough pasta and yellow rice to ensure that all visitors to the kitchen went home with a hot meal today. We hope to continue serving meals to all the visitors of our kitchen in North 💔🆘️#Gaza🇵🇸 for a long time. I’m sad to tell you that donations to the kitchen have slowed down. I hope we can get them to increase again, because at this rate, we will reach a point where we can’t feed everyone every day. I hope you will help us, dear friends. Obviously I’ve been pretty vocal about how I felt. At this point, I feel a bit fatigued talking about it just because of the fact that it is hard being a black woman in this country and having to experience things, even online, and seeing marginalized communities being affected.. and knowing that I can only donate and speak out. British Columbians, If a government feels it can only move forward by censoring its own citizens, we have a huge problem. I believe we have a huge problem here in Canada, and it is showing up clearly in British Columbia. When governments shut down opposition through legislation instead of engaging in open debate, that is coercion. It replaces principled, accountable negotiations with force. Progress on complex issues should come through economic partnerships and respectful dialogue that benefits all British Columbians, not by silencing those who disagree. As Leader of the Conservative Party of British Columbia, I will take this issue directly to the people. We will fight it with clarity and focus. I was born and raised here, and I have raised my own family in this province. I will not stand by while governments treat citizens as obstacles rather than partners. We can do better. We must do better.

I made mistakes, but I own them. Now it’s time to finish the job. What’s next? Full unity behind Kerry-Lynne Findlay.
