Ash learnt from elesa’s battle that using your brain is the right decision

This might be the only battle in BW where Oshawott was locked in the entire battle. No gags, no jokes, no cowardice. Just battle ready from the moment he came onto when he defeated Krokorok (and I supposed his subsequent loss to Palpitoad lol)

Oshawott should've evolved into a dewott ngl

This is so refreshing to watch after how bad the Elesa fight was.

I think the reason pikachu was eager to jump in here is probably due to his rivalry w/ the wild Krokorok, thar Ash eventually catches later on in BW

they did not skip on the animation for this battle

Pretty sure clay tells him to stop doing that and fight like a man 😭

god this battle is so good how is it not talked about more 😭

Good Times

And yet he still used his Boldore

Spiritually counter shield

And then he sent a Roggenrola to fight Excadrill

He needed a pokemon that can tank head on attacks that’s why he used it

He used it because Clay was mad at him for using Pokémon with type advantadge

He was more mad at him for using attract than that

I be your finest pardon....is Ash self aware??? Since when this boy know about type advantages???!!!

Then immediately forgot about Elisa’s words of wisdom right after this battle

I don’t like they treated this anime as a reset for me viewers and dumbed my boy down

Real talk though why didn’t ash teach moves like rain dance and sunny day to his pokemon

Goodra has rain dance in XY

Guy used Roggenrola against a Ground-Steel type Excadrill

If you watch the full battle and roggenrola’s ability and moveset then you’ll understand why he used it…

Not really. Sturdy as an attack prevents getting knocked out with one attack, but by the time it got hit by Horn Drill, it had already been hit multiple times. And it didn’t use or learn Rock Smash until it evolved.

It has good durability and grit which was shown in it’s introductory and capture episode

I guess it worked in the end, but it was a stupid move.

BW anime 🤢 The battles are horrible.
