@AyoCaesar remarkable ignorance as to how an economy functions.

There's no growth. Hasn't been for almost the entire 21st century in the UK now. Something absent, can not be brought in as argument, in a proposition requiring its presence. This is just dumb tbh. As per the course. UK education wasted on your guest. Anyone looking at the 20th century, seeing Stalin and Mao, then concluding "yep that's what I want for myself and my loved ones". Can't expect too much after that tbf.

What universe is she living in? There's no growth (and there won't be, especially not with these energy prices), there's no "austerity" what there is is a gazillion poorly thought out laws that obligate someone, often local councils, to pay for something or provide some service with no real checks or caps. And when someone sensibly suggests reviewing such an arrangement, there's howls of "austerity". The entire country runs on an economic model that's somewhere between a kindergartener writing to father Christmas and a kleptocratic crack den, but stupid communists like sarkar would have you believe that it's ackchyually austere, "growth obsessed" turbo capitalism. Or something. Ridiculous.

@AyoCaesar The UK isn't remotely obsessed with growth. It hasn't been for years. The left is obsessed with saying it is and then pushing us into subsiding house buyers more. The right, honestly I don't even know what they've been doing.
