First, their original U.S. Senate nominee in Maine, Graham Platner, had to completely implode his campaign and back out after credible sexual assault allegations surfaced right after the primary. So the party scrambles to set up Ashley Webb, a transgender candidate who was asked directly on television what actual qualifications he has to serve in the United States Senate, Webb didn't name policy experience, legal backgrounds, or community service. The answer was: "I'm a songwriter and I write my own books." The standard for serious leadership is officially dead.
