Asked about the possibility that tariff revenue will dwindle over time if steep levies on foreign goods encourage Americans to buy US-made products, Secretary Bessent says that may be part of the point. “That's why in the past I called tariff policy done properly, is a shrinking ice cube.... show more

Newsflash asshole, the factories are never coming back

Every time Bessent talks he seems very nervous and uncomfortable lol. Like he knows what he’s saying is BS and everyone can see through it

Factories are not coming back. It takes years to build a factory. They’ll just wait four years for another POTUS who will have different policies and ideas.

Here’s what could get more expensive with Trump’s new tariffs.

The unemployment rate is very low by historical standards, approximately 4% and we’re headed toward mass deportations. The question is where are all these workers going to come from to fill these factories?

We need manufacturing as a national security interest by this point.

So, then, how does tariff revenue (the shrinking ice cube) eternally offset US income tax exactly?

I don’t think “tariff policy done properly” includes tariffing every single country on every single product all at once.

Tariffs kickstart American jobs and paychecks while foreign handouts dry up.

Trump may have his face on it, but his outstanding team is the reason why they will execute to success.

The assumption that businesses are going to just appear in the US is flawed. There’s a reason businesses go oversees to lessen costs. It’s higher here and if it’s higher now, the tariffs won’t help bring the businesses here because $ will be an even bigger issue.
