Asked Jazz owner Ryan Smith about his BYU NIL donation plans. "When I'm no longer here, they're going to get a big chunk of whatever I've got. But that's the right thing to do, because that's where it all started. You gotta remember where you came from, and I...

I saw FOS and I thought it was Friends of Scouting...and if you ask an LDS member about that, it brings up PTSD. 😀

So what Ryan is saying is he's going to leave the Jazz to BYU in his estate plan.

@FOS Shouldn’t mormons donate to poor people over athletes?

I pay for your upgrades to the Delta Center, so in a way I'm making a donation to BYU. I wish you would pay for your own facilities instead of asking taxpayers to do it, but I'm glad you don't donate to the U.

So typical of this dude. Talks like he understands the problem and then continues to perpetrate and makes it so much worse. He wants his cake and eat it too.

Imagine God blessing you with an enormous bag and you spend it on your favorite sports teams instead of helping widows and the poor.

Why would the LDS church own a professional sports team? The church needs to eliminate BYU Football and Basketball or go the way of the Ivy League and not pay players.

Maxx Crosby (Maxx Crosby) shares the framework that changed how he approaches his career and his life. "One of the greatest coaches I've ever been around is Rob Marinelli and Rich Bisaccia. They helped me grow as a person and as a player probably more than anybody I've ever been around in the NFL." They taught him the microscope and the telescope. "The microscope is the day-to-day. That's the most important. Over 90% of the time, you're focused on the microscope." "The telescope is the future - 2 to 3 years from now. What's your ultimate goal? What do you see yourself becoming? How am I gonna get to that point?" "You just peek at that from time to time. You think about it at night a little bit, you think about it in the morning, think about it after a workout. Like, 'That's why I did that. That's why I push myself 'cause I'm getting to that.'" "But majority of the time, I'm in the microscope." The telescope gives you direction. The microscope gives you progress. Then he connected it to something deeper: "That's another big thing I learned in sobriety. It's cliché, but at the end of the day, it's how I live my life. One day at a time. All that matters is being here and being where my feet are." "I'm not worried about the future. I'm not worried about the past. I'm just worried about right now." Don't get caught up in the past or worry about the future because the present moment is the only place where we can truly make a difference. "I've learned and realized that I can be so much more productive just by being present instead of worrying about, 'Oh shit, where do I go next?' Just be where you're at." 90% microscope. 10% telescope. It comes down to focus and where we focus that energy. (🎥 Ultimate Human Podcast with Gary Brecka)

Naval Ravikant: "You're going to die. It's all going to zero. What's there to stress about?" "Stress is when your mind has two conflicting desires at once. You want to be liked, but you want to do something selfish. You don't want to go to work, but you want to make money. You have two conflicting desires, and that's stress." Naval explains the difference between stress and anxiety: "Anxiety is this pervasive, unidentifiable stress where you're stressed out all the time and you're not even sure why. The reason is you have so many unresolved problems that have piled up in your life, you can no longer identify what the problems are. There's this mountain of garbage in your mind. A little bit is poking out the top like an iceberg; that's anxiety. But underneath, there's a lot of unresolved things." He shares his personal anxiety resolver: "One big anxiety resolver for me is just ruminating on death. You're going to die. It's all going to zero. You cannot take anything with you. If you can keep that idea in front of you at all times, what's there to stress about?" Naval reframes what "wasted time" really means: "What is wasted time? Everything is wasted time in a sense because nothing matters in the ultimate. But in each moment, it's the only thing that matters. So if you're doing something you want to do and you're fully there for it it's not wasted time. If your mind is running away, wishing you were somewhere else, anticipating the future, regretting the past, that's wasted time. That's time you're not present for." He concludes: "People get worried about dying and no longer being here. But they don't realize that so much of their life is spent not being here in any case."

After rounds of 68, 72 and 67, Patrick Reed is just 1 shot off the lead at the PGA Championship. After the third round, he gave probably the best description of the challenges of Aronimink yet: “Oh, man. The thing is I don't see Shinnecock in it at all. Yeah, you see the slopes on the greens. You see slopes at Shinnecock. But there are so many flags this week that are either right on a crown or right in a valley where the ball -- I mean, just if the ball's two feet from the hole, it could go a complete different direction, or it could go from straight uphill to downhill. It makes it so hard on putting. “I mean, the rough -- the rough is almost -- I mean, I can't really say a U.S. Open. I mean, it's close. I've had a couple lies I've stood there and I can only advance 50, 60 yards. But then you get some that sit up. “It's just different. I mean, I think that's the easiest way. It's a different challenge, and that's the cool thing about it is it's on its own. “But the great thing about all the golf courses we play, no matter where it is, whatever major championship we're playing, if you're hitting the ball well and you're putting well, you're going to be able to handle anything. We're the best players in the world, so when they throw a really hard challenge at us, that's when the top players are going to show up.” Patrick hasn’t played since the Masters, so he’s going to be fresh heading into the final round. Given the tough set up and just how good his short game is, he will thrive in contention tomorrow and has a great chance to claim his second major championship title. PGA Championship

Naval Ravikant: "You're going to die. It's all going to zero. What's there to stress about?" "Stress is when your mind has two conflicting desires at once. You want to be liked, but you want to do something selfish. You don't want to go to work, but you want to make money. You have two conflicting desires, and that's stress." Most people use stress and anxiety interchangeably. Naval says they're different things: "Anxiety is this pervasive, unidentifiable stress where you're stressed out all the time and you're not even sure why. The reason is you have so many unresolved problems that have piled up in your life, you can no longer identify what the problems are. There's this mountain of garbage in your mind. A little bit is poking out the top like an iceberg; that's anxiety. But underneath, there's a lot of unresolved things." His fix for it is thinking about death: "One big anxiety resolver for me is just ruminating on death. You're going to die. It's all going to zero. You cannot take anything with you. If you can keep that idea in front of you at all times, what's there to stress about?" Which raises a question. If nothing matters, isn't all time wasted? "What is wasted time? Everything is wasted time in a sense because nothing matters in the ultimate. But in each moment, it's the only thing that matters. So if you're doing something you want to do and you're fully there for it it's not wasted time. If your mind is running away, wishing you were somewhere else, anticipating the future, regretting the past, that's wasted time. That's time you're not present for." And the part most people miss: "People get worried about dying and no longer being here. But they don't realize that so much of their life is spent not being here in any case."
