CBN can't meet the supply of commercial banks. POS guys turned themselves to middle men often buying cash from big traders in the market at a premium. Deposits from big traders don't make it to the banks because the POS guys buy it for a fee

The thing is this, we are in a monetary tightening phase and it’s required of the CBN to limit money supply in the economy in order to pressure the prices of goods and services downward cause when there is no much money in the economy unlike before, prices of goods and services tends to come down. (But considering the type of inflation we have in Nigeria, it’s strange to use this method cause it may worsen things). Limiting withdrawals is one of the ways they decided to do it, which is even strange to me though but it’s still what they are on and it tends to last for years. Now the problem is that their efforts are been neutralized by the POS business cause when they have this policy in place and the consumers can just go out to get cash elsewhere when the banks aren’t giving them, then the policy by the CBN is just very useless. So the question now should be, why is the CBN not shutting down POS operations across the country? 🤔 Many would say, they will destroy job opportunities but on the other hand, the job opportunities created by this medium is actually destroying the economy. In healing an economy, sacrifices must be made and it’s obvious Nigeria isn’t ready for that. I still keep asking, why is the Central Bank not shutting down POS operations across the country?

If We like visit UN conference’s White House? Bricks Nations, hold podcast, visit all TV stations, nothing will change. If we do not take to the streets and demand for a turnaround (Revolution) that’s what it means b4 some people will come for my head. Nigerians get adapted very easily, they have this adaptability skills that I like.We have a systematic problem which had been built for ages, until it’s broken everything, including generation to come will meet the Rotten systems.

Don't worry When cr!minals start attacking POS vendors massively? Cash will go back to the banks and ATM will resume. It was road and bank robbery that birthed bank transfers and savings in the bank in the early 2000s The madness in Nigeria is historical.

But my qstn is… what’s the % of transactions we do that requires cash settlement? Every one now accepts card or transfers…what do we need cash for? Cash settlement of bus fares doesn’t warrant you holding more than 7-10k daily…. Truth is a lot of us don’t use cash… 🤷🏽♂️

CBN should flood the economy with cash. Scarcity breeds corruption (hoarding, trading in naira notes which makes the poor poorer) etc.

All focus should be on the CBN.

we are all complacent for accepting the new normal

A failed state

Podcasts won’t solve our problems. It’s just talk talk. We gotta hit the streets and protest. As long as we’re not ready we shall all suffer criminal governance.
