Both parties have punted on the issue of immigration for far too long. But the President’s party is in control of the House and Senate now. If he wanted to address this issue, he could have a comprehensive immigration reform bill on his desk tomorrow. But it’s not happening for one simple reason: He doesn’t want it to.

If you vote in the Welsh elections based on immigration, you are wasting your vote. The Welsh Parliament has NO CONTROL over immigration. It’s like ordering Deliveroo because your boiler has broken. One has no power to fix the other. I’m not saying you shouldn’t care about immigration as an issue, but electing people based on an issue they have no power to address makes no sense.

Reform keeps arguing that immigration is an issue when it isn’t. There is a by-election right now in Caerphilly and Nigel Farage’s party keeps saying that immigration is an issue there. BUT over 97% percent of people in the area were born in the UK. There are perfectly legitimate reasons to be unhappy over the state of public services in the area, but it’s not down to immigration. We need to start debating based on facts not scaremongering.
