"honestly, i don't think i'm very good at letting (my characters) go. once i take on a project, i end up doing it for about 8 to 10 months, and i feel like my way of speaking and habits from that time remain a bit. so even after a project wraps up, that character actually stays with me for a while. but when that happens, i try as much as possible not to do the things that the character used to do for 8 months. for example like a certain posture or things like that. and then i cut my hair from when i played that character to try and see a different image of myself too. but honestly, even if i cut my hair, that character doesn't really go away. so for me, honestly, rather than saying 'i'm letting them go', i just always cherish them and no matter what project i do in the future, i feel like there will still be moments where i think of that character. since i consider (those) moments to be a part of who i am too, i actually really like seeing those moments keep piling up within me."

I get chills and tears every time rewatching this part. Ashley had to risk it all to get to where she is today with her Charlotte character. You can hate the character, but not the person behind it. She has feelings too that are not made out of steel. That’s why I am so ashamed to those who think that it’s okay to hate a person and bring personal issues to an audience that do nothing but try to dehumanise and exploit for the benefit of their hatred to the character.

At first, I didn’t understand the character because she’s very dynamic and has so many different sides. You can play her in a way that makes people see her as a bad person, but you can also explain her to the audience and make them sympathize with her. So I kept going back and forth. I thought, “I probably won’t be able to do this.” Then I said, “No, it’s impossible.” After that, Ms. Gül told me, “Read it again and come back.” So I worked on the character a little more, started enjoying it, and thought, “This could be something crazy too.” I felt an inner challenge like motivation. Then I kept working on her and trying to understand the character. Eventually, I said, “Okay, she’s a perfect fit for me. This is crazy.” What I loved most was that she’s crazy, because whenever I choose a role, I always look for something different. I like choosing different colors, so to speak. I’m also a very energetic person, and this role matches my energy perfectly. It keeps everything fresh, and you never get bored. In fact, with this character, I never feel bored at all. On the contrary, I enjoy acting as her so much. And I think you can see that too (Mert and İlhan). So, when they describe Yıldız, honestly, I never saw the story as simply “the first woman” or “the second woman.” Here, these are genuinely people fighting for a seat. Host: It’s like a Game of Thrones. Damla: Yes, it really is a Game of Thrones. Every single character here even (Mert and İlhan’s) characters has a life they want to achieve, and they’re all fighting for it. What made me love this girl was the way she fought. And when I say “the way she fought,” I mean that she never gave up. Her ambition. And at the same time, she never lost her joy. There’s a saying in Urfa that people always use: “Lose everything, but never lose your joy.” I saw that in her, and it gave me such a warm feeling. That’s why, out of all the characters I’ve played, she’s probably the one I’ve enjoyed portraying the most. Robert De Niro originally wanted to play Max Cherry in Jackie Brown, the role that eventually went to Robert Forster. However, Quentin Tarantino had written the role with Forster in mind and had already promised him the part. Tarantino explains… “I wrote Jackie Brown, and I decided at some point in writing the script that Robert Forster would be terrific as Max Cherry. So, while I’m still writing the script, I bump into Robert Forster - we go to the same coffee shop. ….so I decided I’m gonna give him the part, because I figure, look, this would be a big, big deal part. DEADLINE: And I feel like anytime there’s a big queer project like this, it seems inevitable that people are going to be speculating about your sexuality. Or just accusing you of gay baiting. How does it feel having to separate your personal from the professional? STORRIE: I think there’s so much energy that is coming at us with the rise of this show, and for me, at least, I think it’s important for me to have a little bit of separation from the character in the show. All I can really say is that I love Ilya, I love the community that this is a part of and that this caters to. I think that’s so much more interesting and valuable than doing just another run-of-the-mill, straight story. Who I date, who I sleep with, who this, that, whatever, I’m gonna keep that to myself. What would you say to someone who you know, there may be a fan who feels that way right now? 🐨: I got out of that crisis I had last year because of the all those environments I had. I got out of it like physically but mentally I just, I'm just admitting it that essential sorrow. I don't know what is what is called but it's always there in it, in some part of my heart. So I think I'm still in the middle of just netting who I am. I'm like maybe too sensitive than the others, maybe the average or I think too much. Sometimes I can't sleep. But do you want to die? No, I try to love the life, the skies, taking walks, good friends, drinks, music, interview. I'm still fighting the demons. And I think maybe it could be forever. And forever is too long, like I said. But I just want to say one thing like simply, in short: I think life is fun. It's not because I'm BTS or I'm a star in the spotlight, I think just life is fun and living is better.
